How will you remember Fabricio Werdum?

I remember him as running face first into stipes fist. Such an amatuer move for a heavyweight legend
Truly bizarre.

Some ridiculous antics made Werdum quite the character but also perhaps took away from him getting full credit for his achievements.

He is for me one of the top 5 HW's of all time. Off the top of my head that would be alongside Fedor, Nog, Cain and Cro Cop. Beyond that there is guys like JDS, Barnett, Mir, Reem and the likes. I'm fairly sure Werdum should be placed in that upper bracket ahead of those guys although im less sure if that's how he'll be remembered by the mainstream...i'd probably hazard a guess not!

one of the best HW of all time, the USADA thing is irrelevant, he got thrown under the bus while other guys got to use the tainted supplement loophole (or just make shit up to get him off scot free in the case of Jon). Werdum is also clearly not on that real rocket fuel or he would've been more ripped/jacked throughout his career.

Nothing takes away from his wins over Fedor and Cain in their primes, he doesn't even get enough credit for those, esp the Cain performance, the best of his career, Joe Rogan's nonsense about sea level took a lot away from it by implying Cain wasn't 100%. He was getting fucked up standing and couldn't take him down because of BJJ threat, thats how you beat a pressure wrestler (thats how Khabib will lose too if he fights the wrong guy)

Top tier elite heavyweight. Inconsistent performer. MT clinch coupled w grappling skills seemed to be the key to beat Velasquez. Executed perfectly.Chute boxe style to try to give 20 blows back everytime one lands. Cost him against Stipe.

1 - Guy I didn't know a whole lot about, turned into...
2 - Guy that finally stopped Fedor, turned into...
3 - Guy that literally begged Ubereem to grapple, turned into
4 - Goofy but talented guy that I cheered for, turned into...
5 - Guy that stopped Cain, turned into...
6 - Guy with ties to Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov, which in turns ruins literally everything else.

Top 5 all time.

And most of the things listed.

Mmm

Picks, ducks fights and PEDs user

He refused to rematch with fedor and while waiting for the winner of Cain vs jds, he said he would prefer to face jds as it's a revenge fight

But when he became champ and jds called him out to fight, he declined and claim jds is being gay when jds called him out

Needless to say for his PEDs case, no wonder he looked so good towards the end of his career. Glad he's suspended for 2 years.

He's hoping to be released from the ufc?

The old guy who became champ when the previous generation of HW, who were better than him, deteriorated, clearing the way for him to become champ.

But still, a great fighter and legend.

Probably top 3 HW GOAT behind Fedor and Nog.

And of course he will always be remembered as the first guy to beat the GOAT.

- Humiliated Fedor and Cain, the two most overrated HWs - excellent fighters, yes, but overrated.
- Called Overeem to the ground.
- Accidentally called Fedor's mom a bitch, with wrong words in russian.
- WERDUM TIME!
- Troll face (The best one was against a face off with Fedor, and Fedor LAUGHED).
- Flying kick to Travis Browne's face.
- Pointed to the ground vs Browne, he looked and Werdum started a combo (LOL).
- Boomerang on Colby (and the epic funny post fact interview explaining the occurred).
- Called Ferguson a maricón (:eek::eek::eek:get).
- Cocky guy. So much cock (to Rockhold).
- Kicked Edmund Tarverdyan after Browne's fight.
- GOAT troll of MMA.
- THE GOAT submission artist.

And many, many other things. One of the best HW of all time, between top 10, close to 5, easily.

WAR VAI CAVALO!! A legend. Respect.

I have no reason to believe he can't, he's gonna give it one hell of a shot at least. I see no way he's not at least competitive once he finally establishes himself. The CJJ card is one hell of a challenge, can't wait!
Yeah I'm hype for the CJJ four man tournament.

The oddest mix of patient cunning and rash impulse. Could bait a legend into falling into a trap that would snap a decade-long winning streak, and yet could fly headlong into a KO punch or fritter away a decision with his flopping. Very frustrating...but his teep to the Tarverdyan made it all worth it.

Best Brazilian HW of all time. Goofy face. Almost got destroyed by Tony Ferguson at a luncheon.

Jarl

Guy who choked out and humiliated prime Fedor in front of the biggest television audience of the Russian’s career. Basically destroyed his reputation to mainstream audiences permanently.

Beating fedor, flopping against reem, boomerang, and mostly for me always wanting a title shot which I guess a lot of fighters are like that but it just seemed to bug me with Werdum, like I have x amount of belts on my wall I deserve the shot, I beat some no name and I’m on a one fight streak I deserve the shot, I tied my shoes today I deserve the shot.
