I’m 37 6 feet and walk around at 205. Should I try to make 185 or just fight at what I walk around at? At 205 Im in ok shape but wind easily but if I try to lose a pound I get very starved. I also feel very small when I spar against other bigger men at 205

I don't believe in big weight cuts I think it's a myth and something that got carried over from other singular martial arts and became a loophole in MMA. I think in your situation of getting down to 185 doesn't seem like something you're interested in doing as far as skipping meals or deficient dietting then maybe what you want to do is maybe pack on 5 to 10 lb or more maybe get to 215ish and cut from there to 205lbs.

I believe no one should be cutting more than 10 lb maximum I've done that several times for Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitions I've never cut a lot of weight , I think 8 lb was the most I did and that's cuz I took a tournament on short notice.

Benefits of not a huge weight cut would be you're going to be faster than your opponents your cardio is going to be better your ability to take shots is going to be better cuz you're not dehydrated 24 hours before the flight and you can concentrate a lot more on skill development in your camps instead of just concentrating on getting the weight off which means over time your skills are going to increase versus your opponent is just trying to get the weight off.

But yeah pack on some weight and muscle work on your cardio to get your lungs better if you smoke stop and get that work in.

@Burd Hello! Before answering you I'll give you my credentials: I've been fighting kickboxing for the past 8 years and lost counts of how many rounds I've done inside the ring.

That being said, losing weight before a fight can help you in many ways but can also kill your performance if done incorrectly. So how are you doing it? Do you just stop eating and starve? Do you have a methodology to losing weight?

Pro boxing with 200 lbs weight ins limit might maybe be doable. 24 h weight ins clause before fight. IMHO.
