Weidman vs Anderson now?

Tbh this fight against Reyes went exactly like most people thought of Silva vs Weidman 1, had not Silva act like a complete tool back in that day.

But Silva is too damn freaking old, let the guy rest ffs
Don't even mention it too loud, he could possibly call Dana and settle a Silva vs. Weidman 3, loser disputes the biggest downfall belt against BJ Penn.

He did, but how long can one be invincible?

You can have a hundred title defenses, but eventually father time will catch up to you and some younger guy with less talent but more hunger will get you.

Weidman just happened to catch Anderson at the end of his prime, because someone had to.

But then when Anderson passed him the torch, did Weidman go on to shatter UFC records the way Anderson did? No, he beat two other washed up legends, then got his ass handed to him by 5 of the next 6 guys he faced.

So ya, tell yourself whatever you want, but Anderson is and always will be in the conversation of the greatest mixed martial artist of all time, while Weidman will be ridiculed while people post memes of his dad. Deal with it bud.

It's irrelevant in the title picture, but they're still active fighters on the UFC roster, so it's as relevant as any other fight that doesn't have title implications. Except it's more relevant because of their history, and Anderson being a GOAT and all.

I dont know, I know I'd watch... you wouldn't?
 
Anderson can't ever win again for one simple reason.

Off the top of your head, try to think of the last 3 times in his last fights where you see him throw a combination together.

You can't. Because with age, you no longer have that same "body mind connection" and you don't pull the trigger. You know how we watch our beloved aging fighters (Rashad, Crocop, etc), and essentially scream at the TV, "dude, fucking DO SOMETHING!!!! WTF are you doing just standing there?????"

It's not that they don't want to do something, they can't pull the trigger because by the time they acknowledge that microsecond of time in which maybe they should thrown a check left hook, etc, that moment has passed. They're constantly "behind time." That's why aging fighters look like they are just standing there, paralyzed.

Kinda true, but Cro Cop did close out his career on a 10 fight win streak, mostly finishes, and Anderson just did a lot better against the current MW champ, than Robert Whittaker did, so I definitely wouldn't put it past him to beat a washed up hype job like Weidman.

You can almost say the same about Andy and his 1-7 run. And btw, “toying” with someone and losing kinda voids the “toying”.
