the phrase "beating the fuck out of" is doing an insane amount of work hereSilva has the greater legacy based on body of work and you can definitely make the argument that Anderson was past his prime when he faced Weidman and that he would've beat him had he been in his prime but that's an unprovable hypothetical argument. The reality is that Weidman beat the fuck out of Anderson Silva twice. That's what we know for sure.
it does prove that the guy who beat him is not as good as him...As a Silva fan, is there really any solace in knowing that he was embarrassed twice by a no name, has-been?
weidman fans and silva haters can't accept the reality that those wins did not prove much, and weidman went on to make that clear himself. It's sad to see, ten years later and Silva fans still cant come to grip with reality.
How does it prove that “the guy who BEAT him is not as good as him?”it does prove that the guy who beat him is not as good as him...

Silva may have had the better career, but Weidman owned his ass head to head.
Chris tried to get so much hype from the leg break and then snapped his own shit in half years later. Funny stuff.
It was pretty much all risk and no reward for Silva. If Anderson had beaten Weidman he would have beaten a fighter with only 9 previous fights. It really wouldn't have added much to Silva's stock it would have seemed. It's also why Silva tried avoiding Chris for a year after he won his #1 contenders match where he murdered Munoz.
Silva was past his prime in their first fight.
Silva lost the first fight due to showboating and not taking the fight seriously.
Silva lost the second fight due to a freak leg kick.
These three factors make Weidman's wins against Silva dubious at best.
I still contend that a focused, prime Silva circa 2010 destroys Weidman.

Chris and Anderson fought for 12 and a half minutes between two bouts. In those 12 and a half minutes Weidman knocked Anderson down twice, put Anderson in two submissions, knocked Anderson unconscious, and broke Anderson's leg.the phrase "beating the fuck out of" is doing an insane amount of work here

Silva knew he was supposed to retire after Sonnen 2. Anyways Chris was the better man on the nights they met. Nothing else matters.
