Weidman never proved he's better than Silva.

Absolutely... the Silva that beat Okami or Forrest dismantles Weidman pretty easily. Weidman was literally in the right place at the right time... he scraped by Maia... beat an overhyped mark Munoz to get his shot.
 
Prime Fedor beats Bader too. First fight was a freak punch. Second fight Fedor went easy on him

I dont see him as being overbearing. Just a dad who loves his son.
 
Anyway I dont think Silva was dumb in his performance w Weidman. He was getting beat,and resorted to antics and tactics to con his way back into the fight,and it was working to some extent.
Weidman (and the crowd) wasnt sure what the fuck Anderson was doing. With that He was able to slow it down and get his leg kicks from range. When he did get tagged,he would keep pretending like it didnt bother him,so that Weidman would either be pensive and stay out of range,or get frustrated charge recklessly and get countered.

Both those things were happening,but Silva missed the counter when Weidman charged,and still was able to dodge everything until that wild backhand.

Imho Weidman was better than Silva in this fight,but Silva's experience and art of deception almost turned the whole thing around for him.

Silva def was a bit relieved to not have the responsibility anymore,but that doesnt meant he didnt fight with all his power to win. He wasnt just gonna let Weidman knock him the fuck out. I am sure he was pressured into taking the rematch so soon.

But in the end,Weidman was better than him when they fought.

He did prove he was better than Silva, I mean he beat him twice in dominant fashion. Weidman won and dominated every second of each fight. Silva was losing the first fight before he got knocked out so that’s the only reason he was showboating. The 2nd fight wasn’t a freak leg kick, Weidman almost finished Silva in the first round ffs, he also timed the leg check.

Silva was still in his prime and still hadn’t lost, the leg break ended his prime. He still looked good just a couple years ago. Just accept Weidman was the better fighter than Silva at the time, love Andy but he fought in a weak division and was on steroids even when he lost to Weidman.

Of course it counts bro. I'm just saying Silva was unlikely in his prime by that point despite being undefeated at MW. I don't think this is a unreasonable assumption. Likewise for DC at HW and also Stipe right now and Jon Jones too.

On that very same note, the Chris Weidman that Gregard and Yoel beat was far from the Weidman we knew. Maybe it's all in hindsight but I think it's all relative and context does matter.
