Weidman never proved he's better than Silva.

Can’t really make excuses for Silva, he lost, that’s all that matters.
Ultimately, nobody but diehard American fans will remember Weidman, while Silva will always be regarded highly, so Silva fans can take solace in knowing that. No need to make excuses, though, he lost.

Over time, no one will remember Weidman, they will only remember his overbearing father:

He was serious. He was seriously getting his ass kicked, that's WHY he was taunting so much.
Of course I wouldn't expect a casual to know about the Silva interview before the fight where he said "Chris is the new champion" as his desired outcome, and when the interviewer reacted with surprise, he said "Yeah man... I tired".

Yes. Nobody but diehard Americans will remember a multiple defending MW champ with one of the most prolific KO’s ever.

That guy’s a troll pay him no mind. Literally all his posts are some snarky put downs about white Americans.

As a Silva fan, is there really any solace in knowing that he was embarrassed twice by a no name, has-been?

Also nobody prefight was saying Silva was past his prime. He looked the exact same as he always did. Lackluster TDD, dancing around like a moron, throwing naked leg kicks, etc. All three finally bit him in the ass in the Weidman fights.
To be brutally honest I suspected he was past his prime after struggling with Chael. I knew he was irrefutably past his prime after the leg break. I found Weidman’s first win similar to what the Chael fight would have been if Silva didn’t sub him. Basically a fight Silva lost but would adjust and come back and win. Before the leg break I saw a look in the Chris eye that looked like he gave Silva all he had expecting him to be gone but scared because he was still there and calm. Then the end of the hopes of Silva ever being the same vanished in a snap. Chris tried a little too hard to market off those two wins. Look at he now

I’m not a Silva fan, although I acknowledge that he’s an icon and one of the most entertaining fighters of all-time.

Weidman’s legacy will be the answer to a trivia question.

“Which fighter ended Anderson Silva’s historic run?”

Silva has the greater legacy. But Chris proved he was the better fighter the times they met head to head. There is no sense in trying to marginalize Chris's accomplishments. This is fighting and sometimes your opponent just has your number. We can't overlook how Chris steamrolled his way to acquiring the belt either. It's easy to look back through the revisionist lens after other things have transpired, but not the correct way to look at it.

It's also why Silva tried avoiding Chris for a year after he won his #1 contenders match where he murdered Munoz.

Weidman beat Silva. Everyone loses eventually. It is part of the game. There are so much tape on Silva to study from.

Silva was losing the fist fight before the KO. Weidman had a great run and was a tough out for anyone. He was big, strong, OK stand-up and very good ground skills. Top 6 - 7 runs in UFC Middleweight history:

Silva got busted for PEDS, that fact alone gives my boy the better legacy.
