weekly top ten

Number one is the best. Seriously leave that shit at home, even if you arent new. We always have Navy Seals come on saying, "i wont tap, you cant make me tap..blah blah blah." so we give them a match with a blue belt or higher, lets just say, if you slap a dog on the nose they shut the fuck up really quick.

I've been wearing boxers to takedown classes for four years.
I guess your nuts don't smack around when you get thrown. We do big throws in my club, not saying that you don't, but the thing that's hurts me the worst is when my nuts clack against the inside of my thighs as I land. After a few of these, I started wearing tight shorts to class. I guess if your boxers are tight enough or if you have a jock on it won't hurt, but I like my sack attached to the rest of me!

Ahh yeah that happened once in my younger years.

These days my nuts are so frigging huge people are lucky to get me off the ground in the first place.

I have a better one... a newb that makes the mistake of over wrapping everything and wearing a cup, mouthguard, knee pads, elbow pads, and has wrestling shoes on. It's funny as hell!

How about grappling in your socks? LOL

We were required to grapple in socks where I was last. It was a school rool and we all hated it.

About the belts, I wear the blet I earn in that art. If I have a blue in BJJ I wear white to judo onmy first day, if I have my yellow in judo, I where my white to BJJ on my first day. I would tell them I ahve the other belt int he related art if I am going to be training with them, so as to not be sandbagging and all, but it is another discipline and the belts don't carry over IMO.

That's weird man, did they give you pink gis?

One guy had a pink gi, just one, and that was because he washed his white gi with his red clothes. It was pretty nfunny. Came out sort of pink tie dye looking.

About the socks though, it was the university and the wrestling program people that made the rules and we had to follow them. They sent people down to check on us ocasionally too, so we couldn't just do whatever. It wasn't like that when I started, but they made that rule after my first year.

We don't look at it that way I guess. At the bjj club I train at we wear our judo blacks and at the judo club the bjjers wear their belts. Although we all kinda work together. Good friends, and the bjj and judo we do is really just mixed. We just regularly visit one another.
I figure it okay for a visit but not if I were to join. + our bjj coach told us to.

Yeah Q mystic, I thought about my "NO!" answer to a Judo guy wearing his BB to a BJJ class and visa versa, and I think it's not as set in stone as I first answered. Honestly, if the teacher was cool and had any sense at all, he'd allow it happen. Most people would understand that, either way, the black belt knows what the hell is going on.

I have to back off my initial statement and go along with you on this one Q mystic. Good point.

I don't think a BB from BJJ or Judo would want to just march out on the mat without first checking with the instructor though.
