There is a lot of reasons why Ukraine wants to push towards European/US style of economy is wealth distribution.
Russia: Russia Annual Household Income per Capita reached 6,523.466 USD in Dec 2021,
US: Median household income was $67,521 in 2020
European average for all Countries was: 14,22o
But breaking down each Country can vary a lot but look at Poland, Spain and Finland VS Russia. It's easy to see why Ukraine wants this style of economy and wealth distribution is standard of living. No doubt this will end fairly quickly if Russia was to takeover Ukraine.
Just some examples
Germany: 47,400 Euros
France:39,900 Euros
Britain: 30,680 Euros
Ireland :49,810 Euros
Poland 30,527 Euros
Spain 27,400 Euros
Finland 46,600 Euros
Switzerland 64,520 Euros
Norway 55,740 Euros
Mexico 16,760 US dollars
Russian
Belarus 3,700 US dollars
Kazakhstan 3,246 US dollars
Kyrgyzstan 940 US dollars
It's a dramatic difference in wealth distribution as a majority of the Russian Republics have close to 3rd world living standards. Most of the Russia republics yearly income is less then the monthly income off all but but like 5 Countries searched. Ukraine sees opportunity for economic upward mobility and advancement. Heck 30 percent of Russian republics lack sewers. I am sure the numbers are similar for power and no doubt running water.
This was done because I thought of the income levels as being an issue but did a google search from a number of resources to produce the numbers.
