And instead focus more on some of the shitty refereeing.

Ilir Latifi was dominating Derrick Lewis in round 3. Lewis was on his back like a dead fish, doing nothing. And what did Dan Miragliotta do? Stand the fighters up for no conceivable reason, except to give the hometown fighter an advantage.

I am generally against standups, but this was extremely bad. Lewis was not working. Fighters should not be rewarded with standups for creating inactivity. It incentivizes stalling.

Lewis would be incentivised to hold on even if standups weren't a thing, to prevent taking damage from the fighter on top. The onus is on the fighter on top to make something happen.

I'd be against standups in general too. But that's only if time limits weren't a thing. With time limits, comes standups.

Not mutually exclusive but judging is on the whole far worse than refereeing.

Judging is worst than the reffing..

This is nonsense. The job of both fighters is to try to win. But let's assume you're right anyways.

Latifi was working. He was in a dominant position (hips connected half guard), and was doing good work to Lewis' body.

The first round of Lewis/Latifi was extremely boring and inactive, and was entirely contested standing up. Latifi was doing more work in round 3 on the ground than either fighter was doing standing in round 1.

But dude, that's kind of ironic considering your user name......

The job of both fighters is to try and finish the fight. The goal from the outset is not to win a decision.

Latifi wasn't close to a finish, nor would he be were the fighters allowed to continue on the ground. Whereas on the feet they're both powerhouses, one strike away from finishing.

Mirg in particular gets spazzy and will stand fights up way too quickly. Unfortunately they're all bad in some way.

People used to overly praise Dean for years, but now more people are starting to notice he stops it as soon as someone gets dropped half the time.

Criticize everything that needs to be criticized. Dont allow yourself to be distracted. One mistake does not correct another. All mistakes are mistakes.

At least Lewis was pushing the pace and trying to fight. Latifi was just holding on

Lewis had energy to fight, because he didn't have to use any energy to get back to his feet.

<{danayeah}>If you bitch about judging or the refs, become one. Stop fucking complaining. <Dana05>

The thread title is a joke.

The refereeing on the card was overall fantastic. All of the stoppages were great.

The judging on the other hand was possibly the worst judged card in MMA history.
