We need to build more data centers ASAP

You should listen to him. He told everyone he's a genius and a better striker than Cro Cop. Totally legit.
I am not familiar with his other areas of expertise but I think he‘s trolling. His post reads like a caricature of what the biggest tech weirdos write on the internet. I don‘t buy that a real person actually believes what he wrote.

Oh shit i fell for a troll? Shame on me, lol. At the same time i don‘t monitor every weirdo here so i am an easy troll mark i guess

He used to post about his landlord and how he was not allowed to use the microwave oven.
Huge troll.
Went from living in a rented room to self made millionaire with better standup than CroCop and also a genius.

Had a data center offer a ton of money for some family land. Then the town found out and all the NIMBYs killed the deal. I've now taken up drinking 👌

Essentially all fields. Eventually AI will surpass our understanding of physics and invent new technology for us that is far more advanced than anything we make. Space travel, propulsion, energy, food, shelter, inequality. These are all things an AI will be able to solve

Humans, who actually eat food and have walked the planet for tens of thousands of years, still haven't solved hunger and food shortages. The problem is not lack of food or fertile areas on the planet to grow and sustain enough food for all mankind. It's the distribution of food and external factors interrupting supply chains and greed that creates food shortages and starvation.

With a last name like Shabadoo, you can't go wrong.

Now for the sake of discussion because actually some non-troll people do think a bit like him, I totally agree. Most problems we have are men-made. It‘s not that we don‘t have the ability to solve them but we don‘t have the willingness, i.e. greed.

AI in itself is a market worth thousands of billions, owned by the same investors who own all the rest. Imagine the fallacy in thinking that AI in itself will solve the greed of the people who own AI.

maybe someone with better knowledge of economics can explain it to me, but are you saying that AI and robots will be so efficient at solving problems, labor, building, and distribution that it brings the value of money down to almost nothing?

that makes sense on paper, but what if they don't share?

or what if they wlil but only if people sign up as their lab rats?

and governments always lean into tyranny, so what if they decide to keep the masses as slaves and peasants? the slavery will be digital slavery, not physical.

another general issue is that bots and AI can't print land, so what's going to happen there?

If we use money at all, it won't be the same way we use it today. There will be a change to a more socialist society, where most of the problems we face today will not exist. Access to food, medical care and shelter will be universal. Most jobs done by humans today will be done by AI, so the job market is going to change drastically over the next 40 years. Eventually Humans will do very little because robots are going to be much better than us at everything, it won't make sense to work anymore. It won't make sense to drive anymore. Most of the things we do today will be done by robots and through technology. We are entering the last generations of humans who will work 8 hours a day. Yes, there will be thousands of robots everywhere you go, if you're alive long enough to see it.

We are used to the traditional scaling of technology which has boomed the last 100 years and has taken us on a decent start down the technological path. We are used to technology advancing at the rate of Moore's law because that's what we've experienced throughout previous decades, a gradual predictable increase in computing power which has shaped our generation. With AI, this advancement in technology and other fields is estimated to be hundreds or thousands of times faster than what we currently experience. A technology explosion with increased understanding of sciences like physics, math, material science, energy creation, energy distribution, architecture, etc. All facets of human society will be reshaped with a more advanced understanding. We are pretty quickly approaching this period known as the singularity.

There is no real way to know what will happen, but based on current AI scaling laws, many of us believe the computers will be so smart, that these AI systems will be able to advance our understanding of almost all fields of science with incredible ideas and understanding that we simply are not capable of at this time. This will allow us to solve complex problems to essentially help us unlock the secrets of the universe. The more we continue to advance this technology the closer we come to this outcome, which is why AI is the most important breakthrough of all time. It's going to shape our entire future as a species. It's something we've built as a species, which is going to become infinitesimally smarter than ourselves.

Soon we expect that AI will be smarter than the combined intelligence of all humanity, this is expected in 1-2 years. There's no real way to know what will happen when we continue to increase the power of these AI clusters, but we assume based on what we know so far that it's going to continue to become smarter, as it's done up until this point.

As far as needing land, you don't really need land, you need space. Space doesn't need to be on the ground of the earth, it can be vertically stacked, we can create our own space within our own atmosphere. We just need the material science to build it, and the understanding of architecture in order to design it. All of this can be achieved through AI.

Most future AI will be built in space as well
