I don't think WW was ever as deep as it is now. There is so many contenders: Shavkat, JDM, Brady, Buckley. Up-and-comers like Prates and Morales. Garry is probably 1-2 wins away from TS as well. People hate it only because Belal is champ, but 170 is a freaking shark tank now.

Golden era? Thank god these three are finally out of the way.

I could survive Leon, but this Usman - Colby - Masvidal triangle overstayed its welcome very quickly.

Belal, Brady, Shavkat, JDM, Buckley, Garry. WW is looking very solid to me.

Golden era was GSP, Shields, Rory, Diaz, Lawler, Condit, Fitch, Kos, Palhares, Lombard, Hendricks, Maia all in their prime roughly around the same time.

Was a crazy time, Diaz' run in Strikeforce is what got me into MMA. I miss Strikeforce

Usman and Colby were great wrestlers with great cardio who couldn't strike very good (Usman's striking only got good after his prime)
Masvidal and Leon are good strikers who can't wrestle with the top.

Now we got good wrestlers with great cardio and somewhat working striking. Although zero power, in Belal and Brady.
Brady hit Leon clean with 3 strikes and Edwards head barely moved.
After that I would've thrown the kitchen sink after Brady.


Hope we get good wrestlers with good striking soon, like at 125-155

Hopefully Shavkat heals up and becomes a highlight reel machine again. Then you have Prates coming up. Buckley keeps getting skipped, but he's way more exciting than most people.

There are just a few grindy stinkers on top of WW right now who love to win decisions like Belal, Brady, Leon, Garry. I just hope whoever ends up holding the belt for awhile is one of the exciting ones.

after GSP left and around the time strikeforce got absorbed it was deeper. after GSP left there was Lawler, hendricks, Mcdonald, Woodley, Condit, Matt brown good now better before

The beef the 4 had with each other- the matches between each other- it was a barrel of firecrackers!

With Leon Edwards getting smoked twice and boring-ass Belal as the champion it's officially over.

Remember prime Wonderboy & Gilbert not cracking the top spots even though they were good af.

Remember Colby being boring af and cringey but still being memorable.

None of these dudes were charismatic or particularly noteworthy but they were all cringey in a particular way that made it interesting.

Leon was kind of like the striking version of Belal lol.

The only one who went from made fun of to being liked by the fans was Kamaru because he ended up being a chill dude who's corny but likes to compete and rises up to the occasion.

JDM and Buckley are taking out the trash and there are other up and commers that are hot on their heels.

I don't give a fuck about trash talking and grand standing.

The rank squatters are being dismissed !
