WBO orders Usyk to defend against

It's also worth noting that the first Dubois fight was mandated by the WBA. Usyk didn't volunteer to fight him initially. If they rematch then it'll be a voluntary defense. Parker is just one of Usyk's mandatories at the moment. The other two are Kabayel (WBC) & Pulev (WBA). The WBA recently granted Usyk a two year exemption so now it's just Parker & Kabayel.

Kabayal is the fight I want to see next if I’m being honest. People bang on about how joe deserves it more than anyone else but imo kabayal last 3 wins have been even more impressive than joes. I think the quality of their last 3 opponents have been pretty similar but kabayal has looked the more impressive to me, and all 3 of his opponents were mentality and physically prepared. I’m not sure I can say the same for wilder, and certainly not bakole

I also think kabayal could be usyks toughest fight right now. I dont think he wins but I think he can push him fairly close

Don't know about Kabayel but if compare Parker with Pulev, Parker is considerably more dangerous than Pulev. He is more mobile, lesser predictable and actually lesser over the hill plus faster than Pulev uncle.

If Parker had to fight today vs Pulev I had afforded to place bet on Parker as winner.
It isn't young version of Pulev anymore ( long ago ).
Not bad but just old.

Yeah I feel like Kabayel is the most interesting but least likely as he's been a known name for less time.

Parker isn't undeserving, but I feel like him bulking up wont help him vs Usyk. He's never going to be a heavier hitter than what Usyk has already fought and I like Kabayel's movement more.

they are both deserving of a title shot, and hopefully they both get it next. As a fan I personally prefer kabayal/Usyk and Dubois/Parker. I think kabayal is usyks toughest fight out of the 3, and Parker/Dubois are fairly evenly matched. Then the winners duke it out at the end of the year!

Yeah I like that scenario.

Kabayal seems to have a lot of hidden power. It doesnt look like much but they go down. Very mysterious fighter. Maybe he's heavy handed

You do realize that in 2 of those fights Usyk was contractually obligated to rematch Joshua & Fury? That was always part of the deal. You can't upset both of the biggest names in the marquee division and avoid having to run it back with them. He isn't obligated to fight Dubois again but there's public demand for it. They have a history of bad blood and an element of controversy in there. Additionally, it's an even more lucrative bout for Usyk than Parker would be.

I understand all of this. And I don't give a shit. I'm not cosplaying as Usyk's manager.

I'm discussing what I think is a better fight and the fight fans should be more interested in. And why I hope the WBO derails at least some of the the logic behind the Dubois rematch.

I have no interest in yet another Usyk rematch, and in this one he has control over it.

Dubois will indeed be better for Usyk's bank account. But adding more varied opponents like Parker will be better for his legacy.

As I have said elsewhere, Usyk has only beaten 5 HWs in seven years. 3 of them top HWs. But it's very, very thin. He has spun his wheels, whether it has been his fault or not.

What you consider a better fight isn't necessarily indicative of what others believe. Of course Usyk doesn't have many fights at heavyweight. He didn't turn pro until he was almost 27 years old, fought more at cruiser, and has been pretty inactive for many years (the war being part of it) up until last year. Imagine fans being frustrated at Usyk for only beating the highest ranked fighters in the division and not guys like Parker that have done plenty of losing. Even Parker's wins over Chisora & Ruiz were gift decisions.

I'm not saying Parker is amazing. I simply want to see Usyk fight HWs he hasn't already beaten. I wouldn't think that's a controversial opinion.

He has spent the last 5 years fighting and beating 3 men. It simply baffles me that anybody would want him to fight one of those 3 men again for one of his final fights.

I already explained to you why Usyk has fought those guys. All 3 were mandated at some point (Dubois was WBA mandatory, Fury rematch was contractually obligated as was the Joshua rematch). This isn't difficult to understand. He only voluntarily chose to fight Fury & Joshua the first time. The thing I can't wrap my head around is why anyone would complain about Usyk fighting the very best whether it's a rematch or not. Fury fought Wilder 3 times, Chisora 3 times, etc. Usyk's never had a trilogy.

If Dubois ends up having a better legacy than Parker, which is not an insane scenario (at the rate hes going at, this will likely happen), then Usyk beating him without no controversy would mean a lot more than beating Parker.

This time he has a choice.

The 'controversy' was a completely fake. There is none.

Yes, there is. No, it is not relevant if you think it wasn't a low blow.

If Dubois becomes a big star and has a storied career, which isn't the worst bet, people will definitely mention it.

Usyk has a handful of options here. He can either honor the WBO's ruling and fight Parker next, vacate the WBO title, wait until he's stripped, pay Parker step-aside money, or fight Dubois next. If the Dubois fight is signed in the next few weeks then it'll be for undisputed and title unifications take precedence over mandatories (WBO Regulations - Section 1(b), Clause 5).

People mention all kinds of stupid shit.

There is clear evidence it hit him low. It's not a real controversy.

For those that feel Dubois owes them a personal explanation, here’s his trainer on why he had to pull out and all the money he lost (and additional moneys he had to pay out) due to not being able to fight
