Discussion in 'Strength & Conditioning Discussion' started by mariospoiry, Apr 16, 2008.

  1. Anyone have anything to say about it? Is it worth giving it a go? Ive just been on a 5x5 routine, squats dl's benching the usual shit with some other accessory exercises recently and its been working fine, just wondering if i wave load should this give me better strength gains? and will i put on mass at the same rate?

If the 5x5 is working for you I'd ride that out as long as you can.

I think it's something like that. I'm not too good with percentages, so I just added 5s.

I think Dan john says wave loading is like trying to breathe through your eyes.

edit: I take it back, since I can't find the source. But I did read some criticism of wave loading on the principle that doing a supermaximal lift doesn't precede world record lifts. I don't remember who made this point, but I was thinking I'd try my deadlift/clean combination with varying loads on deadlift to see how it affects my max clean.
