He talks about how he was addicted to painkillers and would pop a shit ton everyday just to take the edge off.

He said he was vomiting and having diarrhea backstage right before the fight. He was telling everyone he was just taking sugar pills.

Wtf. How come this didn't show up in the post fight drug test? Were painkillers allowed or was drug testing that bad?

Dude talks about how heroine and oxycotin are the same shit to him as well.

I said back then when he was walking out that he looks weird and deflated

Doesn't really matter

Stann was always going to beat him

if the post fight drug test is immediately after the fight the metabolites might not show up yet.

i had a mate who hadnt been smoking marijuana forever and thought it was his last test. blazed at 8 am the next morning got called in at noon for another test(PO tried to trick him) and still passed it because it hadnt metabolized and gone into his urine or something.

Lots of guys are on painkillers, not everyone has the luxury to pull out of a fight

I'd imagine that wasn't the only fight he fought intoxicated...

I'd say it's combination of Leben's bad habits and exaggeration of the truth. I don't see how he wouldn't get flagged for that stuff immediately after a fight.

He was going through withdrawals, most likely. Opiates cause constipation, not diarrhea.

I watched that documentary awhile ago. It is pretty crazy. Leben... I don't even know what to say about him... hopefully he straightens himself out.

But withdrawal from opiates causes diarrhea, so now I'm not sure what to believe.

I was saying that I think he was going through withdrawals, probably got off in time to not test positive for the fight, and then got right back on as soon as he finished his post fight piss test. Opiate withdrawal is miserable.

He did look like a Zombie in a lot of his fights , taking clean shots to the head and pushing forward.

I heard it was awesome wanted to watch it ... One of the brothers that made it were on organs podcast Chris or mark bell I don't remember ... But sounded awesome

Another fun fact, chronic opiate use causes low testosterone, so it is not always PEDs that cause the weird test results for fighters. Outside of the addiction and overdose issues with opiates, that is a serious concern for fighters as pain, injury, and surgery is such a huge part of the sport. Cannabis is a much, much safer alternative to opiates for pain relief, and many medical strains offer anti inflammatory (instead of using Advil too) and anti spasm (instead of using muscle relaxers too) benefits as well.

It is on streaming Netflix for free now, I am going to watch it after my kids go to sleep.

He was saying that he was going through withdrawal before the fight. Not that he was high.

Friend of mine knew him in Hawaii and told me this same story when the fight happened. She said he was boozing and popping pills. Pretty insane. Maybe he wasn't even tested that night.

The documentary is VERY one sided with a lot of charlatans given speaking time amongst the odd very knowledgeable party. Big disappointment from Chris Bell as he's usually a very good documentary guy. One of the people given pretty decent screen time was a guy who's claim to fame was being the first person to hold a PhD in HOMEOPATHY lol

It's a shame as it's a very interesting topic that definitely needs more light shed on it as it's a real issue

Also Bell's friendships with several of the parties who spoke on the documentary make for a HUGE conflict of interest.

No wonder he ate shots like a zombie and just plodded forward all the time, he couldn't feel shit!
