Punk Domi, right. Stevens shoulder/head is below Domi's waist, borderline shoulder to knee hit ffs. Then he dont drop his gloves and Peluso fights Domi.

Sure Domi got kicked out so yey for coward Stevens.

Ahh yeah a fight against Probert, sent Probert flying with a hip check. After Probert dropped gloves, Stevens spent 45ish seconds hanging on the dear life and pullea off Probert's shirt. Then hugged Probert until refs stopped it.

Like i said sure loved pick his spots for dirty hits and rarely if ever answered the call to fight.

No I'm not talking about that Probert fight. There first fight. It's actually pretty good fight.

Btw I'm no fanatic of Stevens, but the guy played within the rules at the time. I'm sure if he played now he would not play the way he did or else he'd be banned from the league.

Nah still a coward, a pos and a bitch. Fuck him.

I agree he's one of the greatest leaders period in any sport really.

Guy was an absolute gem. Lol at people complaining he didn't fight that often. He was too busy decimating people and winning cups.

Never saw Stevens do shit like this:

Or this:

Instead, he was doing a lot of this (keep your heads up and stop admiring your passes):

Don't even need to post in this thread. @Sweater of AV posting truths left and right.

@Rawex is clearly Paul Kariya's father.....lol at those diatribes up there

Stevens played on the edge for sure, and clearly has a mean streak in him. If you weren't playing with your head up when you were on the ice against Scott, you were putting yourself at serious risk. But generally speaking he's one of the toughest, best all round D men of all-time. Any team would have died to have him on their team.

Back in the day you also fought if you started shit, yet as seen here not the case with Stevens. More than happy to hit players in vulnerable position, targeting the head and often raised his elbows after contact. But once there is a chance he might get hurt and get into a fight, suddenly he remembers you can also behave like a normal person.

Fuck him
Look at this noob talking nonsense out his ass.

Stevens fought all the time in his early years in Washington. He tapered off and focused on other aspects of the game, but he literally has an awesome resume of facing off against some of the toughest guys of his time.

You're lost.

Probert, Manson, McCarthy, Brashear, Stock, Brown...

Has around 110 fighting majors in his career.

He's no Wendel Clark if you're looking for the real total package, but nothing wrong with Scott. As noted, you must be a Kariya or Lindros.

Stevens took liberties but he also dropped the gloves. Dirty is someone like Steve Moore who was happy to dish out hits but then refused to drop the gloves after.

At the time it was normal and fellow players held the player skating with their head down more accountable than the guy who saw a dumb ass with his head down and went for the hit.

Stevens was great. The clutching and grabbing Ken Danyeko did to funnel players into those hits were also a product of the times

The game was way slower then with 2 line passes being whistled down. Players who saw Stevens coming KNEW to dump the puck and get out of the way. Which played into Brodeur's puckhandling strength. The trapezoid was a direct result of Brodeur being an ace puckhandling goalie.

Stevens was a violent hitter, but not cheap or dirty. He played within the rules at the time.

Some of his most memorable hits were on players who had their head down. Kids are taught at the peewee level to keep their head up and that is why.

I never liked NJ but he was a beast and any GM in the league would have run through fire to sign a guy like him.
