Was John Morgan Out of Line When He Asked Conor About the Lawsuits, Or....

Holding truth to power and fishing for clicks are two very different things.

In this case, the court system it's being decided in is quite literally there for "holding truth to power" by deciding the manner in as fair and impartial a manner as possible.

Trying to bring it out of the court room is looking for clicks.

Let alone that attorneys literally exist to represent their clients on these matters. If you want to stick your nose into somebody else's business at least have the decency and professionalism to speak to their literal representative on it. As you yourself would try and direct any inquiries to.

Bypassing their attorney is looking for clicks.
your just saying "looking for clicks" as if that means something and you know very little about US law if you think a law suit or a court case isnt in the realm of public discussion and media, this isnt the UK . Imagine taking your logic beyond athletes concerning public figures like politicians , CEO's or military leaders it just immediately crumbles . Congrats on saying nothing with so many words though .

Yes, mma media shouldn't be acting like a lawyer and treating this like court. Giving it any ground/traction for what benieft would that do for Conor? Nothing lol, he handled it well though. I hate when mma media gets a bit too personal, this is the "fight game" not young and the restless.

We spent hundreds of years to rightfully develop courts precisely to resolve these matters away from the court of public opinion until a decision has been rendered, and attorneys precisely to represent clients on the issues. Other people being historical and current pieces of shit looking to enrich themselves off other peoples personal lives nd butt in doesn't mean you or anybody else should debase themselves to it too.

Try considering that these are actual people, with actual lives being affected, before being so nonchalant about it. There's a system in place, and if the roles were reversed you'd want the system to play out how it's designed to, not others trying to take it out of it and possibly influence it there instead.

I think it’s fair game to ask a loaded question like that if you inform the person beforehand so they have time to think about a response, otherwise you’re basically trying to “catch them out” and make them look bad, which is basically attack journalism.

Attack journalism? Haha. "That's a nasty question !"
If he loses people will be talking about the accusations. Let's be honest.
It's all over the news especially in Ireland. It's frankly bizarre it wouldn't come up.

I don't think he should have mentioned it specifically; perhaps used a euphemism like 'outside distractions' imo.

Conor handled it well. Didn't evade, didn't get angry just answered straight up very matter-of-factly. Disaster averted.

Why? Lawsuits are not "outside distractions". Netflix is an outside distraction, Proper 12 is an outside distraction.
And Conor gave a very well rehearsed answer.

Out of line? Not in the slightest. We're media, we're supposed to ask these questions. I am disappointed in the crowd booing the question, though.

We are??

And no, it's fine at a post fight, but people are paying good money to watch Conor fight, not about you dummy's getting a scoop, don't ask questions that could in anyway, potentially take away from the fight.

Don't ask about personal stuff unrelated to the sport people are paying to see.

Like I said, post fight is fine, the bout is done, people got their money's worth. But pre fight is different, that guy should lose his access

He is out of the line for being so fat.
Thats true.
Imagine a fat butterball tubby lubby sweaty fuckin flabby bitch boy like that would talk sideways to you on the streets of Oslo? I dont think ya take it so well!

Here we chop wood trying to stay alive.

Instead of sitting in a cafe drikking caffe latte and talking fashion and important stuff like vegan, feminism, and political correct stuff.

I don't disagree with you, but there is the other side of the coin. They are covering fighting primarily, not people's personal lives, so maybe they should stick to promoting the sport that we all love so much and leave it at that. As well, as they are presumably all huge MMA fans, and as covering MMA is their livelihood, they would like to maintain their access to the promotions, to the fighters, and to Dana, so stirring the pot would be counterproductive to that.
Well your last point is part of the problem for journalism in general. It’s the same in politics — Dems mostly sticking to MSNBC and Republicans to FOX, etc.

But if it were just about the technique then we wouldn’t need press conferences at all — the fighters themselves are a part of the intrigue and that should include their flaws as well. Plenty of people will be watching in the hopes that Conor loses. Frankly other fighters who weren’t as big as McGregor would probably have been cut for what he did at UFC 223, and sitting on the sidelines (at the very least) while facing sexual assault accusations,
