It was bad, but not as bad as beating and anally raping defenseless women in hotel rooms. Different levels and all.

It would if they didn't cut Ali as an informant for being unreliable. So he was presumably, not a great guy, then a traitor to his friends/cohorts, then a traitor to his country misleading the FBI on a terror case. Yet, he did get his plea deal worked out.

I don't know why people would expect him to, he was kinda pretending like he wanted to, but no sane human legitimately wants to walk outside and get attacked by a group of pro fighters like that for pride alone. I never understand people that have that tough guy mentality to the point of putting themselves in super dangerous positions for no reason.
