Was Cheers a good show?

I really liked it. The cast was great and they had excellent chemistry. I still think it's the best hangout sitcom ever.

Been forever since I've seen it.

What did Norm do for a living again?

Or was he just a career alcoholic?

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

He was an accountant for most of it, but by the end he was doing odd jobs for Woody.

It wasn't generally massively smart or subversive but it was very charming which I think goes along way, basically what Friends was hyped to be but wasn't.

I got through Season 1 and most of Season 2. I'm not impressed. I remember my mom, stepdad and their friends loving the show. I even thought it was okay when I was a kid, but now , I think it's crap. Does it get better? Should I keep watching?

It's dated. In the 80's it was a good show. Today...not so much.

I see that a lot. The characters were caricaturish. A lot of baby boomers that I know thought people were just types in real life also. The coach was over the top and ridiculously stupid.

Totally agree, at the time I liked Rebecca and Woody, but watching back, Coach and Diane are absolutely awesome in their roles. "Albania!" "Albania!" "You border on the Adriatic!"

True story.

Years and years ago i met a girl from Albania that I was interested in. When she asked me if I knew of Albania I sang that song as it has always stuck with me. She laughed her head off and i ended up hitting it the next time we met.

I salute Coach with a tear in my eye and a beer whenever I think of it.

Awesome, I love Coach. When I go back and watch the episodes, certain ones get me to tearing up knowing he's gonna pass away soon. You never would think that they could replace that dude but Woody was a damn fine addition to the cast

yup. It is super hard to replace such a popular character like Coach, but Woody never missed a beat and stepped right in admirably.

My favorite two Woody lines...

- "No sudden movements!" (the bees)
- "It is 99... " (the contest giveaway)

So I'm guessing the Albania song was an instant panty dropper. "How you know so much bout my country?"

heh. it certainly broke the ice and gave her a really big laugh both of which we know are huge when you meet a new girl if you want to move things forward. Not sure i get there so easily the next night without Coach in my corner that night.

It has its moments. I always liked Becker a lot more. Ted killed it on that show.

If you like older sitcoms, watch All in The Family. It is the GOAT.

It was probably my favorite show as a kid, but I don't know if it's held up too well.

It was a show you'd leave on in the background, but not necessarily make a point to tune in to.

Drew Carey Show was one of those shows I'd leave on after the news, and I ended up liking it, except the last seasons that I didn't watch.

Frasier is one of the best and most interesting tv series ever created and the character came from there so I would give it a chance just because of that.

PS - The love story of Niles and Daphne was the best constructed love storyline Ive seen on tv. I got emotional like a little bitch the episode that Niles finally tells Daphne that he loves her. The night before her wedding, fucking A
