I don't know what he intended to do. But it shouldn't be said that Obama accepted the results of the election until Obama has actually left the office of presidency.

I think they'll compare the next Democratic president unfavorably to him. Like, "Why can't this person compromise and work with Republicans the way Obama did or be as classy and scandal-free as Obama was?"
