If you don't drain it right away it'll calcify and then you're basically screwed..
IF your ears are just sore after training you probably want to baby it for a week or two (roll lightly so it doesn't take impact) then get decent wrestling ear guards until it's no longer injured.
Now in years of serious daily training I've never really had my ears get too sore and I've never had a tear, so I've luckily not come close to getting cauliflower ear. Hopefully my ears are just too godlike to get it
