Warhammer 40k

I wanna get into it but it seems like a money pit.
They opened up a new games workshop store in Beaverton Oregon where I live. Been avoiding it like the plague. I have to you know, pay rent.

The rest of the ork stuff is now up and I'm surprised by how many individual vehicle kits they went with. There's six new vehicles and as far as I can tell none of them are dual/multi kits.

Thoughts on the implications of Calgar becoming a Primaris Marine?

I just read the books so I don't have any skin in the game as far as the gaming aspect goes but I think if Primaris is going to be a thing which it is I think its kinda cool that classic space marine characters can level up to Primaris levels.

Its a way even though it may be gimmicky to keep loved characters from becoming obsolete. I think a character with the experience of marines like Calgar combined with the Primaris upgrades would outclass a regular Primaris, think Randy Couture wrecking younger fighters back in the day.

From what I've read Calgar barely survived the process so I don't think GW intends to do away with standard space marines but elevate a few characters which I think is cool.

Oh, they absolutely do. Make no mistake, chibi-marines will likely never get another major main-studio release (FW will still have the HH line). It'll be all primaris, and eventually the old kits will be discontinued. Not next year, maybe not even in five years, but the writing is on the wall.
