God I want a good warhammer 40k movie SERIES. On the level of 20 year planning like Marvel and DC, but with R-ratings (and for damn good reason).

I agree fully. I know I'll probably get flamed for this, but I honestly believe if GW marketed 40k more, it wouldn't necessarily be a popular as Star Wars, however many people would become fascinated by the deep, intricate lore of the series & may even possibly say that from an interest POV, it's much more compelling, entertaining & even thought-provoking than Star Wars or even any of the Marvel & DC flicks.

GW should spend less time worrying about the game & more time trying to collaborate with some media giant to either make a tv series or film of the HH & watch the money fall down. Maybe even a Ciaphas Cain tv show or film, there's so much GW can do with 40k, they're literally sitting on a goldmine IMO.

I hope they've played Dark Omen. With that, each unit had a face (ie the commander popping up and screaming shit whenever you gave orders), and combined with the different uniforms and backgrounds it gave your army texture

Small touches, but TW games have never had that level of personality. For me this game lives and dies on dat level of customization and its ability to produce characters on the battlefield

40K: Eldar
Fantasy: Skaven, Silvan elves, Bretons.

I used to play Silvan elves when i wanted to be fancy. Wardancers are fun.
Bretons when i wanted to have unbeatable tanks, 2+ save knights charging in = atomic bomb
Skaven... I loved them for the infinite ranks bonus. But they do get a bit frustrating to play with once you lose battle after battle because of misscasting and warp fails.

so what the fuck happens now? Chaos won, world got fucked but Sigmar (?) survived somehow. Is GW going to create a new world from scratch now or was this a way of shutting the Fantasy franchise down but kept a small glipse of hope incase they change their mind?

Actually came out better than I anticipated. I went into it just wanting to whip up a quick chaos dwarf-y model. Really just made stuff up as I went along, with no pre-planning. Which is usually a recipe for disaster.

Sure the model looks kinda wonky up close compared to commercial products, but from two feet away you really can't tell that much difference.

Sabretooth tiger shoulder pad and insect mandible helmet goes perfect together. No thematic inconsistency whatsoever, no sir.

Initial (and only) idea for the dwarf was that I wanted a simple model that would look good in massed lines around this Scibor showpiece, but without stealing any of the thunder. So imagine him multiplied by about 50.

The crest came out more retarded than I intended.

Was going for some kind of vague bird theme, with beaked helmet et cetera. The sword scabbards are supposed to give a subliminal impression of tailfeathers, but you can't really tell from these angles.

They are either going to do a 5th to 6th edition reset where it's 11 minutes to midnight again. Or the rumors of the universe shattering into reality bubbles is true.

Used to be that 40k was "WHFB in space". If they go with the whole reality bubble theme, with bubbles floating around in what is, for lack of a better word, space, then WHFB will also be "WHFB in space".

I'm a pretty avid Space Wolves player, I've got around 2,500 points. I've got a beastly 6x4 table set up in my kitchen I try and get at least a few games in a month.

I've not played fantasy in about 10 years but I'm considering starting an army when this Sigmar stuff rolls out.

I've been thinking about this recently, it would be tricky to do without making it too niche geeky. Some of the names, the way the orks talk, some of that shit is way too cheesy to fly. I've never played the game, and to be honist, it's not my idea of fun in the slightest. Love the books though.

My plan would be to start at the HH with the first movie. The lead would be a rememberancer attached to an Imperial Guard unit in support of space marines. You could give lots of background and explanation without feeling like your just passing on info to the audience. It would be a war movie with IG vs generic aliens. The Marines wouldn't turn up until 3/4 of the way through the film, even then they wouldn't speak. They could show up like walking tanks, fuck shit up then disappear.

Second film would be a comic book style film with space marines. Lots of crazy superhuman shit going on. Gavial Loken would be the lead, possibly on Murder. I'd probably go non cannon and have him promoted into the Mornival on that campaign. Flesh out Horus, Marines in General, touch on the warp, couple of creepy things.

Third film is Ullanor. Mainly Marines interacting with other legions, fighting, ground work being layed, but still lots of drama between Primarchs.

Fourth film would be a creepy thriller/horror split between Loken and Horus. It would start on sixty three nineteen then end on Davin with Horus's fall. Erebus, chaos, the whole nine yards. Again, the timeline would be off but fuck it.

Fifth film would be istavan

Sixth would be chaos Vs imperium

Etc etc.
Inbetween 1&2 I'd have an imperial guard tv show. No space marines, men v Alien's with a tiny hint of chaos.
Between 5 & 6 I'd have have a flash forward TV show for the inquisition or assasinorium.
Yeah anyway. Board at work!!!!!
