@VivaRevolution is right on this one. Honey trap and honeypot are two distinct terms. Honeypot is vaginal, honey trap is simply any bait that should be irresistible.

Clockwise/counterclockwise are directions in and of themselves. Left and right are translational directions, wheras CW and CCW are rotational directions.

Netflix up nice again today. But I won't be buying. I will be buying Disney. Disney has all the tools to cream Netflix. They have the whole Disney library obviously, they have Star Wars, they have ESPN and are trying to get 21th century Fox. That is a lot of programming there. Netflix has put out some good original content but I think Disney will overtake them in the somewhat near future.
 
It would be so great if the UFC was publicly traded. Stock would go up and down with any peep from McGregor. I can see people holding on the idea that Conor is coming back. Lesnar getting popped would make the stock drop. Lesnar coming in last minute vs Hunt would make it go up. The look on Dana's face when he straps the belt around the champ is another important moment too.

I mean, by this forum, the UFC's stock has gone done with Stipe winning. They want that huge black guy. Stock would have went through the floor when Rousey got KOd. Fedor losing to Werdum would give the UFC a nice bump too.

I honestly don't understand why Conor is such a huge draw. Is it just because he's white and talks shit?

If it's just that, I'll watch Nate Diaz, or heaven forbid his GOAT brother, fight any day over Conor. They're more exciting and their trash talk is genuine.

Same, brother. There's nothing more exciting than a Nick Diaz fight. And, for anyone who has boxed or fought, there is nothing crazier than what he does stalking opponents down and taking shots.

There is a lot of white people who talk shit in the sport -- its the fact that his shit talking for some reason resonates more among people. The accent helps, seriously.

But he is far more exciting and dynamic than the Diaz bros -- especially Nick.

Well, even if you suppose that receiving (or rather soliciting) donations has no effect on policy stances, which I frankly think is a little obtuse to how fundraising and how politicking works, that doesn't change the effect of allowing more money to go to persons with certain positions on an issue and amplifying already-disproportionate political speech towards advocacy of positions helping large aggregations of power and capital. Even if you deny the "corrupting" argument, it still has the same end result of bending the democratic process towards arguably non-democratic results.

You could make an argument about the optics, but I think its detrimental effect is undeniable. And I think the data on the rise in campaign spending reflects that. Campaign spending has continued to balloon even though disposal income per capita has plateaued.

It's already a nightmare about the conflict of being fair to the fighters while also being a profitable/entertaining product to the fans. Stock value added would be another shit thing to have to consider. I guess they already have that issue now with the new owners and you can see it's changed the way the company is run (big money fights take priority over the legit contender in line). I wonder how long that's going to last and what the squeeze of not being able to maintain it will cause the company to do. Although 2017 was a good year for the sport and promotion, I do worry about the long term trend. The way Bisping's title reign was handled still bugs me.
