Agreed, and maybe I'm rationalizing, but I believe Bisping fought exceptionally poorly against GSP. He had success nearly every time he pushed in, and handled the takedown game very well, but he remained tentative, just waiting to get pounded. I chalk it up to a psychological defeat more than a skill defeat. And obviously Whit is far better than Bisping, and has a stronger mind.
Definitely rationalizing. Bisping did everything he was supposed to, get back up, land shots, have better gas. GSP was just the tactician. Everyone thought ring rust would hold GSP back before the fight but seem to be forgetting it now. He has to better next time out. Which he will need to be.
Edit: and while B got back up from the takedowns, they really put B on his heels and made GSP's striking more effective. It really was classic GSP with some gas issues and getting hit issues which could have been the rust.
