a network tried a broadcast with all former NBA players, and it didn't last a year, because it was awful.

players are fucking morons.

a good show requires both.

Shaq dying laughing completes this segment.

Also, why are politicians rolling out the tired old argument of violent video games cause people to snap and go apeshit?

My impression is that professional comedy attracts a lot more self-unaware and attention-obsessed egomaniacs than it does people with actual (comedic) talent or intelligence. Which is why, for every stand up comedian that I'd enjoy being around, I suspect there are 10 I'd find insufferable and lame.
I feel like I could say something similar about the legal profession, if I were only intent on smearing a profession because of my personal preferences.

Anyway, actors are clearly the most self-involved, especially if you include so-called influencers.

That's probably true. I'm not a big fan of Joe Rogan's standup but he has his moments, and he's clearly a funny guy when he's with his friends. Ari is not even funny when he's in a room with people, but to your point, he does seem very self-absorbed. I know comedy is subjective though, and that's just my opinion.

@nac386 is so honorable

That's not what being a hack is. Ari is one of the least hackneyed acts I've ever heard. He's probably too far from a hack because he's unrelatable.

I disagree. His tweet was about as unoriginal and hackish as any typical internet troll making a misguided attempt at edgy humor. It was basically, "Good! I'm glad he's dead! Liberal Hollywood! The Lakers suck!" That's not unrelatable because of it's so high-brow that people just don't understand, or so novel that people just weren't ready for it. It's hack humor, if it can even be considered humor.

If there are any solid Ari Shiffir bits I'd be willing to hear them out. But I've seen a bit of his material over the years and it's never funny but always grating.

@Gregolian how are things bruh?
I slowly am dying mentally having to constantly bite my tongue at what my roommate's kid does. Does anyone remember their parents letting them run, stomping, every where in the house without being corrected as a child?

What'd you get carded for?

I was flaming pretty hard and calling people losers.

I deserved it to be fair, but it was the result of hurt feelings for sure.

"Any discussion with you requires a complete re-education and rewiring of your brain. It's just not worth it.

You have a knack for having absolutely horrible takes about literally anything."

Nah, but that's because the kid feels safe to do what they're doing. The best behaved children tend to have experienced a parental nuclear meltdown, which as it turns out isn't that great.

You know what is great? Having your own apartment.

Believe me, I am looking and trying to find places within like 2 miles of where I work so I could potentially walk to work when the whether isn't complete shite.

So far found about 3-4 places where rent for a studio is like $1000 a month or so, and if I say put aside another $300 for utilities (estimating on the high side) which would be like water/sewer, gas, electricity, internet, and garbage I can do it. Given where I live when searching my requirements are "A/C, washer/dryer in unit, and parking"

Reached out to a couple places, been placed on "interest lists" for them to contact me say in October if they will have a unit open up in early January or February when my current lease is up. I signed an 18 month pro-rated least middle of August so my current lease would be up sometime around end of January middle of February. Worst case, I'll pay for my current spot and the apartment for 1, maybe 2 months (it won't be fun but will be doable). Cause I want fucking out.

I'm not sure I like the "tolerate them because you have to" method of helping people realize they shouldn't hold things against people that are none of their business. Better than preaching jihad, though, I guess.

Also,
*tenets--sorry, just a big peeve along with regimen/regiment

What would you prefer?

Me personally I would prefer Muslims be a little more critical of this Faustian deal with the left and shouldn't be so quick to drop their principles.

The most accessible thing you could watch is probably his latest special "Passive Aggressive."

That said, you're pretty clearly in "defend the stupid comment to the death" mode despite the overture, because he hurt your feelings. So this is definitely a waste of my time. Your brain will interpret anything with a pre-existing neural connection in your head as hacky, because that's how people's brains work in these situations. So, if he jokes about a common subject, your switch will flip. Notice that because "the Lakers suck" came up as a subject (on Twitter), that you used that to support the premise of it being a hackneyed comment so you could in turn dismiss his whole act.

And let's not just brush off that you threw the word "hack" out there because you identify it with being generally derisive toward a comic, and not because you had considered its use. And there's also zero chance you'll admit to this, so the rest of this is all going to be on your heels.

I feel like I could say something similar about the legal profession, if I were only intent on smearing a profession because of my personal preferences.

You could, but it wouldn't be a remotely comparable smear since traditional professions like lawyer, accountant, doctor, etc. have barriers to entry, standards of conduct, and entirely different required personality traits. If someone is dead-set on being famous and getting attention, choosing any of those professions would make no sense.

Anyway, actors are clearly the most self-involved, especially if you include so-called influencers.

I also don't agree with this, but I'm not sure what an influencer really is.

Can't an argument be mad that maybe, just maybe ONCE IN AWHILE comedians can go the route of being a decent human being during moments like this (especially since it JUST HAPPENED) rather than the edgelord "let's see how outraged I can make people?" route.

Guys like this are considered "influencers"

Aka, they have more than 1 million subs on YouTube.
