War Room Lounge v98: “Yes I’m a gangster and I committed that crime.”

If you knew a guy who couldn't drive from point A to point B without taking a drink, you'd be like "Joe - you're a god damn alcoholic."
This reminds me of the time my grandfather (aka Papa) was driving me to pick up a new motor for my car , it was 86 or 87 , we were taking my grandmother's pick up truck , had to go about 20 miles , as we were leaving my grandmother (aka Mama) says to me "BC , don't let him smoke in my truck! " make no mistake my grandmother was in charge.

Now my grandfather smoked probably smoked 4 to 6 packs a day , he would often have more than one going , we go about half a mile and he goes to light up , I tell him not to , he says" I can't go all that way without a cigarette!" , I tell him to pull over then , he says baaah and waves me off , I say ok but I'm not lying to Mama .

We get back , I thought we were in the clear , after we were back about 15 minutes she says " oh BC , did he smoke ? " I take a long pause, look toward my grandfather and just say " sorry Papa " , my grandmother burst out laughing , she knew damn well he couldn't go that long without a cigarette .

Don't know if anyone else will find that funny but I was sitting here chuckling remembering it , my grandfather was a great guy , I had friends who as teenagers who would stop by to see him when I wasn't even there lol .

#grandparents are awesome

Gun to your head, who does Bernie pick as a VP?
what about Biden?

i legit have no idea where they are leaning, perhaps I've missed it

i mean what if Biden picks Klobuchar (whom is appearing more and more viable IMO)?

for some reason i'm thinking both picks a woman if they win the nom

Actually I think its mainly for one reason, the script. Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway were great as Bane and Catwoman respectively and of course Hans Zimmer is always on point with his score. The effects were great too. Its really just the shitty script and to a much lesser extent the poorly choreographed fights scenes that hurt the film. For fun here's Zizek's take on the film.

I thought Catwoman was highly underdeveloped, and not really needed in the movie. Hathaway was fine, but what was her character's purpose again, other than showing up when it's convenient to the plot?

It is all intertwined with the script of course, which was just bloated with unnecessary nonsense(like Matthew Modine's arc), but it could've worked with a bit better execution on film. That was most alarming to me when I watched it. Just how sloppily it was all slapped together, which is not something you would expect with Nolan at the helm. I think they were going for a big rogues gallery send off for the trilogy, and they simply couldn't juggle it all.

That's where I'll give Marvel a lot of credit. Their movies should have a pretty high failure rate, considering all the shit they try to cram in every movie. They usually bring it all home though. I remember when I first heard they were making "Avengers", and thought it couldn't possibly be done, because it's just so much to juggle with all the individual characters sharing the screen, and having to write a script that would satisfy all the fans of them, but they nailed it for the most part, and have continued to defy the odds, and make most of their movies a lot better than they should be, given all the shit they've gotta balance.

Kamala Harris maybe if it's Bernie , I hope it's not Biden , he's heading around the bend ( Trump isn't far behind )

I think Biden and Amy overlap too much and he wouldn't get much from having her on the ticket.

I could see Biden going with Kamala or Warren.

It would make sense for Bernie to go with Mayor Pete, Amy or Kamala but I don't know if Bernie really subscribes to DC conventional wisdom. Maybe Steyer can finally wear him down and will be invited into his campaign

Historically it's been someone that shores up the deficiencies of the president. Older, white male, from Vermont.

Stacey Abrams could be an obvious choice since women are in play now. I wouldn't mind seeing Marc Veasey from Texas.

Abrams would be perfect for Bernie, IMO. After that, maybe Baldwin, Booker, or Klobuchar. For Biden, maybe Kanna? He's mentioned Abrams, too. Not sure how she'd play with the crazy Bernie fans (that is, I don't know enough to say whether that would enrage them more or whether they'd like her--I'd lean toward expecting the former).

Probably Kamala.

That's my point though, the script is what failed the character and not the actress. I think it she could've turned in a very memorable performance as Catwoman had the script been better. Tom Hardy turned in a memorable performance as is though because of the shitty scripts its remembered for the wrong reasons.

Would it be legal for Obama to be his VP? Seems unconstitutional but I really don't know. If not that would be the perfect tag team to take down Trump. Who better to get the Obama coalition than the man himself?

Everything I've seen says yes, but it's unorthodox.

Constitution says you can only be elected twice, doesn't say you can only hold the office twice. In theory, a candidate could win and immediately resign to a former president, indefinitely. It would be incredibly bizarre, but it could happen.

my favorite part of the Bernie/Warren hot mic thing, was Steyer just patiently waiting to get Bernie's attention

and then Bernie basically saying 'ya, whatever' and shook his hand

hahahahahah

Thanks for your guys insight, i wont get any legit insight talking to coworkers around here as I work on a USMC base and live in a Marine town

you can imagine which way my city leans. FFS we have a store called Trumpville, in SoCal mind you.

I have also wondered how much they had to change to accommodate Cotillard’s pregnancy. I have to believe she would have had a bigger role in the movie.

And yes, Hardy was great as Bane, but still miscast and yes the fight scenes were pathetic. It was close to being good, and TDK was close to being great, but really doesn’t hold up - outside of some individual performances and the cinematography it’s actually a mediocre movie.

SoCal has some of the biggest Trump supporters I’ve ever seen. I was dumbfounded.

in parts of SD I've seen some

and then huge parts of Eastern SoCal is full of them
think all the east county SD people that have lifted trucks, or the desert yeti's out near me

but then down in Palm Springs area, it's quite the opposite. I used to date a social worker, and all her coworkers were massive Trump haters. So much so, they refused to go to Stagecoach (a huge country concert) b/c and i quote "i might see someone in a MAGA hat and i'll have to punch them"

my response of 'aren't you ladies responsible for whether people keep their kids? and you'll punch someone b/c of a hat they are wearing? that's how little of control over your emotions you have? sounds legit"
went over as well as you can imagine.
