speaking of songwriters @Gregolian ..... richard thompson is a genius, seen him live 3 times..that guy can play guitar..

That song always reminds me of this:

you know a songs good when it’s used in media and you instantly remember the scene you first saw it in

Hey @Anung Un Rama, sorry for saying I thought you were lying the other day. I reread that exchange and I was out of line there.

Forgiven. Thank you.

back in h.s. when my buddies and I would drink, get in fights, and try and get laid, we would start the night off, particularly during the cold winters, drinking in the car parked on a side street with the car running, heat pumping and cranking tunes: Simon & Garfunkel were a staple of that ritual.
As was Zeppelin, Jane's Addiction, Jim Croce, The Doors, Fugazy, and some others, but our Simon and Garfunkel period was as prolific as Picasso's Blue Period (if we can call destroying brain cells prolific)
Really takes me back, man. We had the strip mall parking lot most weekends, where it was endless laps blasting everything from Dio to Van Halen to the Beastie Boys. Never got into Simon and Garfunkel, but on a shrooms and weed night we’d find a field and listen to the Smiths, the Dead, Floyd, etc. I wouldn’t call my hs era prolific, but it had a killer a soundtrack. I honestly feel bad for the last couple of generations, musically speaking.

Natives in Canada go way harder than in the states. I feel bad for people who come up here thinking Canada is soft and easy to work in. LOL, I've known people come up here and head west and get stopped immediately and never make it past Manitoba.

Damn @Lead, you sure caused a shit storm by posting rankings in the bet thread.

I got no complaints though. #6 baby! I'll take it.

Looks like the Trump bump does not exist anymore. Dems win Louisiana governer's race.

How on Earth did this...nevermind, don't jinx it. Republicans are collectively going: "Uh oh..."

The powder room
The can
The throne
Thank you. I knew there were some common ones I couldn't recollect.

Even at that I believe there are still a couple rolling around in my noggin that I can't call up.
Imo Paul Simon is one of the greatest songwriters ever
Do you like his new stuff? I'm fascinated by this song he performed on SNL:

Edit: the internet suggests this is a new arrangement of an old song. Anyway, very interesting, imo.

If you think about it the “Trump bump” isn’t a thing and Trump is terrible for the GOP overall. In the areas of the country where he is liked his base is engaged and his endorsement doesn’t seem to move the needle. In elections that need suburban and more moderate voters he’s a net negative because he’s so unpopular. And he has no chance to help elections that lean left but are gettable.

I’d bet that if Trump does win next year the GOP will get creamed in 2022.

And who knows what happens long term. I’d like to think a Trumpy GOP is doomed to a minority but we’ll see.
