This is exactly my criticism of @Jack V Savage on the "dishonesty" point. He often purports to be able to read our minds and to determine that we do not believe the words we type. I know that he does not have this supernatural ability, because I know my thoughts. Therefore, Mr. Jack has some sort of mental block preventing him from accepting that other people hold certain other views contrary to his own views.

Except that I recognize that other people disagree with me all the time. I'm specifically noting the dishonesty of a few people.

I've had this experience too.

I don't think it's "teaching adherents to lie" but rather changing their orientation toward truthfulness as something to be employed selectively as a tool rather than pursued at the expense of other closely-held propositions.

Tomato, tomato. It teaches the idea that arguments are means for advancing goals rather than for understanding reality, and that truth is only to be employed to the extent that it is useful for that goal advancement.

In fact he's gone beyond criticism of my posts and accused me of bad parenting despite having 1 child that's a war vet with a successful career, 1 enrolled in college studying to be a teacher, and twins that are ranked in top 5% nationally.

First, do you deny that Evangelicals leaders ask their followers to believe and defend claims that are objectively false (thinking most about evolution and related issues here)?

It greatly depends on amout of care about said world view. People who would be bored and think we're idiots using free time talking/arguing politics on a forum can be married. Where like one wants to keep their guns, keep the taxes the hell away from his family, thinks poor people are mostly lazy and shouldn't receive handouts as that just enables them whereas the wife (yes, gender stereotypes) would like more welfare, doesn't care about illegal immigration, and thinks racism is still a problem to some extent in the country. But that's when their worldview doesn't have much to do with their opinions on those things. Their hobbies and what they do together, with friends and family, never cause those issues to come up and they normally don't even bother to go vote (like ~40% of our population)

When one person is so strong in their believes its basically his identity snd public appearance? Hell no.
