Because he would have even more to point to as evidence of bias against him and against conservatives.
If they were reporting facts and their reporting was consistent across political lines then no he wouldn't have more footing.

I can't look beyond Trumpism? That's an odd and pessimistic thing to say.
Who would the 3-Star Chef be in this scenario? I'd assume the NYT, who had to rededicate themselve to honesty after Trump was elected. There is an entire niche of media born of the unreliability and bias of the MSM.
My dude, the stench of Trump is going to be sticking around loooooong after he's out of office.

You've correctly observed that there is a sickness with how people consume media, but you have incorrectly assumed that the problem was the media instead of with the people consuming it.

Cop told to ‘tone down gayness’ for promotion is awarded $20 million

A veteran St. Louis cop who was told to tone down his “gayness” to get a promotion has been awarded almost $20 million, according to a report.

Sgt. Keith Wildhaber said he was passed over 23 times for a promotion at the St. Louis County Police Department and then punished with a transfer when he complained, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch said.

Where are the Vogues? Blades? Why is there a top? That don't even look like candy paint! How you supposed to swang that?

But again, if Trump is a symptom of a larger problem (and I believe he is), then you have to look beyond Trump to begin to understand the and hopefully solve them. Our media is just 1 part of that and they haven't done themselves any favors over the last 3+ years.

Oh cool great awesome so glad the already-stretched tax base there has to pay 20 million dollars for that oh goody. FFS. I get that it's worth some serious money, but can we cut it off at like a million?

They probably have some kind of lawsuit insurance. Also, there is always a ton of waste in municipal budgets. I pay 10k a year in property taxes, called the water department and complained about a leaking main valve, they came out and im sure they spent like 3-5k to fix a valve that was dripping and wouldn't close. I.E. its not just this, its expensive every where on the budget.

Side note: Of all the employers doing something bad to an employee, the last one you want to cut a break to is the government.

I don't think they've done worse than usual over that period. And it seems to me that stuff like the ridiculous overplaying of Clinton's non-criminal violation of State Department email-security protocols (and being played by bad-faith actors exploiting bothsidesism) was much more of a threat than occasional minor errors.

Anyway, I'm not convinced that the media can do anything internally to fix the problem.

I see your point, and the point about government needing to be held more strictly accountable seems logical, but it comes out of the taxpayers one way or another, even if insurance gets hit immediately. That just kicks the can down the road.

I don't think excusing waste by pointing to more waste is very useful.

It's beautiful, classy, and the best shirt; and for you to question means you sound poor, and should probably go back to wherever you came from.
