Endorsements are fine imo, the rule is "They can benefit from their name, image, and likeness". Ticket sales I'm not actually sure about.

I would have liked to see that if an athlete is receiving money, the first of it should go to paying back the scholarship they got, and that money then re sent out as financially need based scholarships to non athletes.

Shouldn't be getting free ride scholarship plus making money. One or the other.

I think that defeats the purpose. They're getting free scholarships because they're making bank for the college, who is also exploiting their name with paraphernalia sales. And if they're a game changer then they get the tv money, too. Not to mention that the school is getting endorsement money. The athletes should get a piece of their merch sales as well as tourney/ ticket sales and some of that should be based off of stats.
Endorsements will corrupt.
