What are the chances we've been visited by intelligent space aliens?

Stunts gone wrong would make an interesting Mayberry thread if it doens't exist already.

This scene from Hot Rod was actually a giant fuck up. The stunt guy was supposed to go into the trailer but instead overshot it HARD. They ended up using it in the final take, tho

If you look closely, you can see that his femur actually snapped in half when he hit the other ramp.
Holy shit, I can’t believe they used it in the movie. Hopefully it was with the dude’s blessing.
Also, Hot Rod is pretty damn good.

Mushrooms are the best on everything. Whenever I meet someone who doesn't like them I look at them sideways. Same with onions. Who was it here that doesn't like onions? Was it jack or Trotsky? I can't remember

My wife absolutely loves mushrooms and completely hates onions. You know how hard it is to cook nice dinners without onions???

How can you hate cooked onions? That's ridiculous.
I mostly use mushrooms to absorb flavours though. Especially chili oil. Much like tofu.

What a nightmare that must be. Onions are like the base of everything lol

Are you sure? Because the way his legs move really make it look like a dummy.

Why do you feel its almost certainly the case that we've been visited by aliens?

Universe has been around for 13 billion years. To think that not a single life form in this entire universe, as large as it is, over the course of 13 billion years, hasn't accomplished space travel is mind blowing to me.

In our little bit of time think of all the advancements we have made. Imagine explaining a cell phone to someone in the 1800s or a car to someone in 1450. A space shuttle. Now imagine how advanced we will be in 3019, or 4019, or 40019, or 400019.

The likelihood that we haven't been visited, explored, laughed at from a distance, temporarily replicated for an alien vacation visit, etc is 0% in my mind.

My mom saw one when in the military, so there's that too.

You reckless little bitchlet.

The question is whether we, not the planet, have been visited by aliens.

What lol. Man they gotta be more specific than that LOL. I think it would be impossible to know. They probably disguise themselves as regular people. Or just push a button and go invisible. Can't picture them walking around with big green heads.

The universe may have technically existed that long, but that's including all the time it took for it to actually form from dust and shit.

The actual time aliens had to get here is likely roughly the exact same time we had to get to them once the universe settled.

Space travel is one thing... manned space travel at the speed of light hasn't even been proven. So the idea that another species with the same exact amount of time as we did to evolve also developed manned spacecraft capable of speed exponentially faster than the speed of light seems unlikely.

The distance required to travel would have the aliens needing to begin traveling to our planet before we were anywhere near humans.

When that suggestion is made, I ask the question: Who do you think the president could nominate that could get through the Republican Senate? Who you would prefer on the court than me?

Boooring, I thought maybe you had a UFO sighting story but I guess not.

I one time saw something in the sky that made an aeronautical Maneuver that would be impossible with current technology.

But I was also drunk af.

To address your question, I have not had the experiences that Dan Aykroyd has had

You're basing all of this on the scientific knowledge we have as humans though. Our human history and growth rates. What if hundreds of millions of years ago, when we had dinosaurs, some planet half a universe away had "Teltarops" (made up word) that could learn all knowledge in an instant and retain it forever onto their offsprings. Or instant teleport abilities as part of their genetics. What if they survive by breathing smoke in 178 degree weather? We would literally have no way of knowing that, let alone be knowledgeable enough in sciences to figure anything out about it.

There could be an invisible alien with ultratech sitting next to you right now and you'd have no clue. We could be a tv channel for alien comedy. It's one those things that we just have no way of knowing, but I'm not willing to limit what another civilizations technology may be based on our own growth.

That woman is just a warrior.

Gotta add, I find this lifetime judge thing in the US completely retarded.

You're basing your entire position on a complete lack of evidence.

There is nothing scientific about it so it's hard for me to take it seriously.

Imagine explaining our current air-travel situation to someone in the 1950s (the same as it was then except cheaper, safer, and less comfortable). For most technology, there's an initial burst followed by stagnation.
