Actually I think WSU comes to SLC this year to play the Utes....

Bet tickets are outrageous and SLC loves their Utes so... tempted to go but also worried about being the only WSU fan NOT sitting in the visitor's section with my luck.

I think it reflects both a great strength and a great weakness of US society: the strength being the exceptionally liberal tolerance of religion that allowed Mormonism to exist, and the weakness being the inability or unwillingness of the federal government to stop it and other religions from amassing enormous economic and political power.

I meant globally.
To be honest I'm not that surprised that the Mormons managed to get established in the US. Even within protestant Christianity there's a lot of um... esoteric doctrines that have originated within the US.
Not that I have issues with Mormons, the ones I've met have been decent people.
Not sure I can extend that to Scientology though.

Frequently? Under what circumstances do you find yourself frequently told/asked your ethnicity? Honest question. My wife is an immigrant from Japan and it seems she's only asked about this when interacting with other immigrants. I'm just curious about your experiences, I guess. According to my wife, asking a visible minority, "Where are you from?" is only inoffensive if an immigrant does it. Do you concur?

I travel lots and on several occasions I have people think I'm Turkish lol. I am certainly not. It seems my actual ancestry is seldomly guessed, and when itnisnit tends to be because the person is of the same ancestry.

Is "The Daily Show" going from Jon Stewart to Trevor Noah a perfect analogy for how far Liberal standards on humor has fallen?

Maybe not, but I think it is.

Trevor Noah is the least funny man on TV in decades. Jon was funny, his dismantling of Tucker back in the day is a classic.

Yeah, but who needs that nuanced, biting commentary on lame conservatives, when you've got "Orange Man Bad", amirite?

New Liberalism: So bad, it made people forget that Tucker Carlson was that lame dork with a bow tie. Now he's a "threat". LOL.

How do you boys make your grilled cheese sandwiches?

Be specific...what type of cheese and bread

Well, if you want to go all out...

I suggest Dutch Crunch lathered with garlic butter, with a mix of shredded Havarti and Cheddar.

If not, any old bread with some cheese slices will suffice.

@panamaican asking you this as I think you'd have the most considerate answer.

Would you consider "White Progressive Ethno Masochist" or "WPEM" to be a slur? I do. I think it's essentially calling somebody a race traitor, and it's roughly equivalent to repeatedly calling people an "Uncle Tom" or a "Self-hating Jew," and both of those get out of hand rather easily. It's racially insulting/dehumanizing as well as being classic junky stereotyping. It seems inappropriate here.

In other words: Should I report someone for this, and will you dub them if I do?

No, if something becomes a slur that wasn't, I'm not in favor of carding it immediately (there should be a fair period where it's deleted/warned), and I'm not sure it's even a qualifying slur on this particular subforum which is why I'm asking the person who I think can give an unbiased and good response. I've been on the unlucky end of that myself when a word became suddenly forbidden.
