Also, my wife has been using a subreddit called something like "1200 is enough". It is a community of females who share information about how to limit calories to 1200 calories a day with fully balanced nutrition. As a male, 1800 is probably a better number for you. Calorie counting works, Mr President. 

That sounds like a little less than the average BMR for a woman iirc.

In other words, almost definitely not enough.

All I can think of is that episode of The League where Kevin is trying to break Jenny's sex record... that she lied about and Andre asking if jerking off counts or not.

"At least" sounds better. I would just be mindful about it - a bunch of women getting together to reinforce each other eating as little as possible raises some red flags for me.

Don't you think a couple hundred calories of exercise would be preferable to not eating? Nothing that would make a woman go she-hulk, but keep her at least athletic enough to be able to hike up a mountain or something.

Isn't there also clinical trials out there that show just depriving the body of calories causes it to shut down and retain EVERYTHING so you almost can end up gaining weight as the body thinks it's now starving to death?

Not sure how that interacts with a 1200 calorie diet

1800 calories is like a small bowl of almonds and a protein shake.

Yeah, I ain't really up for the ultra liberal Aushwitz diet when I'm trying to do squats and deadlifts.

Mr President, the goal should be weight loss, health and longevity. If you are living a more active lifestyle, then you can increase that number to 2200 or so. Sticking to a strict target cannot fail. Only you can fail yourself. I love you, Mr. President.

Doing the SKWATZ N MILK thing when you're trying to lose weight is dumb. You need to be in caloric excess to build muscle and strength generally speaking. You can do some general strength work in the meantime, but doing cardio and general sports while controlling your caloric intake is probably going to make more sense and be a lot more fun.

Forgive my lack of knowledge @Prokofievian but shouldn't he be taking in alot more calories than 1800 even if he's trying to lose weight? The guys 3bills and 1800 doesn't seem like enough to provide energy required to workout.
Also I've always been under the impression that multi joint exercises like squats and the increase in muscle mass that comes with them help to boost metabolism...

She is athletic enough to hike. She doesn't like exercise beyond housework, which she enjoys.

Mr President, she has already lost six pounds. We will maintain the 1200 calories for at least another two weeks to see what happens. Thank you very much for your concern. You have earned your title.

I try to average around 2200 a day. It feels like I have enough energy to do my workouts while with the workout I have a caloric deficit.
 
how does @WarDosAnjos operate unchecked in the War Room without any mod intervention? I've never seen this guy so much as dubbed and he's the most obvious troll in the forum. I'm beginning to think he's a mod alt like @pridejitzu was.

He should definitely work out his maintenance caloric intake and use that to establish his deficit. 1800 does sound light, but without that information it's tough to say.

Squats and deadlifts are wonderful exercises, but the goals of getting stronger and losing weight are contradictory. If you build muscle, that additional muscle will help you burn calories. But to build muscle you must be in caloric surplus: like, by the laws of thermodynamics. But if you're a fatty mcfatface I don't think that starting your weightloss journey in caloric surplus to make dem gainz makes a whole lot of sense.
 
I try to average around 2200 a day. It feels like I have enough energy to do my workouts while with the workout I have a caloric deficit.
Yeah I'm not very knowledgeable (always been little/compete at light feather in bjj) but I thought that the bare minimum was 2000-2500.
Only thing I have to offer in regards to weight loss is try fasted cardio(ie hit the treadmill first thing in the am pre breakfast). Was reading through @Thunderhead 's diet journal and he seemed to be making crazy progress on a carnivore diet....dude knows his ish
 
Do you have a scale? Do you portion your food?
Use a food scale for preparing my lunches and my dinner and that "MyFitnessPal" to track the exact calories.

I have to be up at 6:15 in the morning to be at work by 8:00 and the gym I go to only opens at 6 AM so my ability to do morning cardio is pretty limited.

You think anyone with a different opinion is a troll. Just because liberal views get people riled up here doesn't mean they are ungenuine. You'd rather just have a same think circle jerk? You're everything wrong with America.
