I don't know what you hens are clucking about, but this topic, Young Republicans, crossed my mind while I was dropping off the kids at the pool this morning.

This current generation of young Republicans - ones who grew up with Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan openly engaging in bad faith politics and lying out of both sides of their mouths and came of age with Donald Trump completely normalizing openly lying and engaging in shameless corruption, yet who stuck with the party - what demon spawn are they going to be when they are in a place to be elected to government in a couple decades?

Does that sound anything at all like unknowingly seeing a person of ambiguous age who was actually illegal? Doesn't sound anything like it to me. So when he equivocates between that and Trujillo's charge, sorry but that's 100% a personal revelation and an attempt to, as you say, normalize. Exactly the right word.

What's disturbing about his post is that there's a big big difference between porn featuring someone that turns out to be 16/17 and actual child pornography. They cater to very different needs.

Defending someone who allegedly has full blown CP in his possession by saying "you know what I bet one of those coeds gone wild videos you fapped to had a 17 year old girl" is a whole other level of perversity.

In terms of quality of living? Yes.

In terms of racism? Also, fuck yes. Racism correlates very well (not perfectly, but very well) with economy. You have some exceptions one way (oil-rich Arab countries, Japan) or the other (Cuba is quite poor but very non-racist) but it generally holds.

But I don't think it's healthy to hold our country to the standards of those that are much poorer and less advanced than we are.

It's not. I never sit around and ponder my whiteness, and it pretty much only comes up in racial discussions where it's relevant. I'm more aware of my surroundings when I'm the only white person around, of course. But I'd prefer to just never have to think about it. Feels like a waste of my humanity.
