I wonder if the majority of baristas know they are used as an example of a failure? Seems like there are way better examples you could use but barista is the go to. It would be weird to avoid a job just for that reason but I could see myself hesitating if in that positon.

Meh, the opinion of anyone looking down on someone for working that kind of job is worthless anyway. Most of us have worked hard, poorly compensated jobs at some point in our lives.

Part of the reason is I just think it's a weird target. I guess the one person's point about the stereotype of someone with a bachelors adds some weight to it. If I had to think of a target, I'd pick a job that's potentially harmful to the community or shady. Every barista I've dealt with has been surprisingly nice despite how shitty that job must be at times.

It's a karate forum Jack. No one's looking down on anyone it's just a little light hearted ball busting.

What is this supposed to imply or mean?

I absolutely look down on people here.

A lot

It’s not that strange when you look around here. Some people view wealth as validation from the universe and poverty as a punishment that must be as harsh as possible.

lol at a good economy emboldening racism.
that's why India, with it's perennially shit tier economy is in engaged in wholesale ethnic cleansing
at the behest of Amit Shah, the country's Interior Minister. The intent is to rid India of 'foreginers",
in this case, 33m muslims unless they can prove a genealogical tie to the country.

America is the most lenient, minority ass kissing country on the planet.

Why is it on here when someone acts cunty, and gets called on it, they fall backto "its a karate forum bro", like that excuses cunty behavior.

Well, because they're a cunt

how is anyone planning to beat this guy with the orange hair and the big mouth
No one with a voice is actually trying to beat him. They're making sure hes got it locked up.

They all win either way, nahmsayn?

am I reading this right in this week's edition of The Economist?
US economy on the increase for a record number of months ever, like 39 mos or something?
New jerbs created in June at 224K, off setting unemployment which is at a 30 yr low, especially in
inner city areas?

how is anyone planning to beat this guy with the orange hair and the big mouth?

Obviously, he has nothing to do with any of that. The public does tend to stupidly credit the president for the economy, but more the very recent trajectory than the level.

Yeah, it takes a certain mixture of privileged and stupid to actually think that. There''s also a color of anti-cosmopolitanism/anti-city/anti-education to it because of coffee shops being seen as liberal city establishments.

Anyways, I've worked jobs WAY worse than being a barista. I used to be the guy that wiped up the spluge in country club saunas.

good god, pure idiocy from a supposed learned poster.

just use plain words and verbiage, you're not in Debating 101 at your local junior college, ninny.
Congress is responsible for the economy 95% of the time.

My worst job was unloading car parts and tires from shipping containers for Nissan. But being a busboy wasn't fun, either.

Yeesh. What didn't you understand?

I don't understand what your aunt, who is fine in my book, sees in that shriveled, half man of your uncle.
She could do much better.
