A ton of the heavies is attention whoring. You can tell just by how many threads continue to pop up about the same exact topic right after a fight and the people who’s OP gets merged freaking out and making 2-3 more new threads. Also, the statements like that one are purely for attention. Way too much hyperbole there as well.

If you like your fiction films to have some sort of attempt at credibility within the context of the genre then this film is cartoon level silly. Were you not the one arguing that fiction should take the time to explain out of scene ethnics (sorry if I am confused)? Well explain the guy playing guitar, or how every road warrior movie in the land of no oil ends in a long drawn out chase scene? Not that any of that really matters, as long as we accept the campy nature of a film like this.

For me that’s the problem with the film, social commentary not withstanding, it’s a very basic plot full of holes all put together as an excuse to get to the typical silly road warrior ending. It’s not that I mind these kinds of film and again on pure entertainment value I get why some people really like it. For me it does not rate as top fiction at all.

Why explain the guitar playing? Its their version of war drums, that's pretty much obvious when you first see him. I have not seen the other Mad Max films but as far as Fury Road goes I don't find their use of the oil that unbelievable. Presumably the little remaining oil is controlled by a select few who may or many not be responsible stewards of it. The oil would not have to disappear or even get close to disappearing for its dwindling to have serious effects on society. If we had some global catastrophe over climate change and a lack of oil its possible the remaining population would technically have an abundance of oil relative to their population even if its not nearly enough to rebuild civilization to what it once was.

And actually Immortem Joe's counterparts from gas town and the bullet farm even comment on how their chase is wasting too many resources just for a few women so that much is addressed in the film.

That place is completely different to handle though just because of the volume in poster and new accounts as well. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with it. I think I removed it from my sig but sherdog logic is if you lose, your a can. If you win, your a can crusher.
My final days in the place were where I’d ask people using hyperbole on bashing a certain fighter to tell me where they rank them and if they ranked them insanely low id ask the fighters they believe to be higher. They’d either answer rational but stick with calling someone a can they just agreed is #5 in the world or they’d start listing ridiculous names that could be that person which they could get embarrassed over later. It just gets silly.

Lol we have sidewalks so muddy shoes aren't really a thing unless you're out playing in the mud for some reason.

If people wear snow boots over they would probably take then off but not normal sneakers or dress shoes

I take them off. When visiting someone else's home, obligatory to take them off unless the host insists to keep them on.
