The whole bird argument is monumentally stupid. Any tall structure will kill some birds. None of the people using that as an argument against windpower are consistent about valuing the lives of a small number of birds over human flourishing.

Yeah, it's fucking absurd. I knew the death count for windmills was low, but even I was pretty shocked when I ran the numbers in that thread and realized they account for like one fifty-thousandth of unnatural bird deaths or whatever the figure was.

I have an animal rights activist friend who just couldn't even with that shit. The treatment of animals in the US is pretty distinctly barbaric relative to other well-off countries, with the worst probably being poultry, and the Republican Party has repeatedly sabotaged efforts to provide basic welfare standards and actually made some very dicey (in my opinion unconstitutional) laws on political speech and videotaping of factory farm conditions. That Trump was now feigning worry about some minuscule number of birds just sent her over the edge.

It's impossible to argue with conservatives now that they aren't making conservative arguments. They're basically making liberal arguments for conservative policies using outright lies.

No notice at all. Just happened to see that number in my statement and thought "that's not right" then went back through older statements and saw the interest amount changing

Normally I never even open up my statements. I make the auto payment each month then a few hundred extra depending on how we did budget wise on the month

I’m glad I’m out of that shit. Luckily mine didn’t transfer during the life of paying the loans and were all in one place. I pretty much want to only get my financing (car/ mortgage) through my credit union but I recently fucked up my credit and the score they are using is harsh compared to what I’m seeing everywhere else. I’ll be pissed if I can’t get a good rate through them because I’d rather not deal with a different lender.
