@MicroBrew here is some religion/politics for ya

My favorite part is:

"I'm not being political, but witchcraft is trying to take over this country."

[crowd murmurs]

It's amazing what Americans will tolerate from the pulpit.

I am not going to argue with @TheComebackKid on religious theology, that's going down a rabbit hole I don't want to.

And that preacher is nuts.

Nope, they're not. They're Zionist. But that doesn't mean right-wing.

This is off topic.
Obviously you have no idea of what "right-wing" means, it's support for hierarchy and the existing establishment. Murdoch doesn't run news operations which fail to support that, and those news organisations also explicitly support the political parties that do the same.

Sorry we aren't godless heathens that worship dingoes and 1980s rock music.

Hah! I'd take dingoes and '80s rock music from the pulpit over politics and prosperity doctrine any day.
It's weird though. Politics from the pulpit is a big no-no over here. Even more so than prosperity doctrine.

Yeah, it was the same here for a long time. Growing up, religion and politics were pretty compartmentalized (and to the extent that they weren't, it was Catholics and Presbyterians advocating against war, for helping the poor, etc.). But electing a mixed race president really just broke the minds of a lot of people and pulled the veil off of a lot of people's religious beliefs. Even though he was clearly religious and had practiced Christianity much more faithfully than prophet Donald, the "Obama is an agent of the devil" still gained a lot of traction.

Speak for yourself

I do think dingoes are really cool and ungodly cute for a wild dog. When I was a kid, there was a show "Gargoyles" that had villains named Dingo and Jackal and for whatever reason that sprouted a keen interest in those animals.

Although I do appreciate your recognition of my superiority on such topics as theology I'm not sure why you would tag me just to declare you won't discuss the matter. Seems kinda silly, yes?

Because the notification I got for this thread directly pertained to your argument involving "easter worshippers" in the Sri Lanka bombing thread.

If I didn't tag you, you or someone else might think it was wrong of me to mention you but not tag you.

I would disagree with you here, but that would lead to going down a rabbit hole that I don't want to.

What do you mean? Is he prevented from doing so for because of his argument about the victims being "easter worshippers" , which I presume is considered thread derailing or religious discussion?

Isn't it amazing how I can get banned from a thread for responding to a topic you were discussing? No warning, no nothing.

Pretty bad move by a mod with an obvious axe to grind imo.

Edit: Am by no means am I saying they deserved to be attacked. It's just a fact they were worshipping Easter just like all of my own friends and family were.

Him and Warren if he wins. It would be the perfect mix of progressive bonafides and policy wonk.
Either way, they better narrow down the field PDQ or it will be a bigger joke than the Republicans in 2016.

For what it's worth: I see his point of not allowing religious discussion, as it is irrelevant in the context and I agree with not allowing thread derailing , but I don't agree with banning you from the thread completely. Now obviously I am not privy to the details of the ban, so I don't know if he only banned you from discussing religious theology or just banned you from posting anything in the thread.
