Pop quiz, hot shot, what's the biggest organ in the human body?

Also, who gets famous as a doctor? Most of the most famous doctors - Dr. Phil, Dr. Pepper, Dr. Dre, Dr. Seuss - don't even have M.D. degrees.
Let's not forget @DoctorTaco

I’ve been prescribed oxycotton three times, including now, but never took it. I can’t see myself getting hooked on pain killers but I’m always paranoid into thinking I could take something once and not get off it.

Before the Newfie Heroin wave it Ontario a lot of my friends got into perks, and dilaudid and other things, but the king among all scripts (imo) was morphine. They were these likkle blue time-release pills and it was just...glory, when i did some the first time. The itchiness was fine. The warm torpidity was great.

But the three-day constipation that ensued made it impossible to abuse effectively. Prior to that indulgence that I had been undefeated on the toilet. But by the end of those threee days I was a broken man.

So this is how I was passed over and spared by the opiod epidemic: I simply had too much shit to do.

Skin

I remember getting into an argument with our science teacher in like 9th grade during frog dissection that skin couldn't actually be an organ, because young me could be an insufferable know it all I realize in hindsight (I'm better at keeping it to my thoughts now)

Pretty sure Greoric's imaginary brother is a more qualified medical professional than ol @Lubaolong

Pretty sure his imaginary brother can do more than ten handstand pushups as well.

The video of it is forthcoming he's just been....busy.

I just stumbled across this gem lmao

I was the top of my class and famous on a big wow PvP server up until around 2006 with several well-known players, some who have continued playing and are sponsored and have large bases of followers. One well-known pro player made an entire video about my character. True, there’s a chance I wouldn’t have succeeded from streaming, but it wouldn’t be because of a lack of skill. I was the best when I quit. I made a significant amount of money from running a gold farming business as well. Not involved at all with gaming now.

Man, between finishing his entire undergrad in less than 6 months, to being one of the best WoW players in the world.... our friend Luba sure has had a heckuva schedule lmao
Good thing he turned down multiple offers to be super famous, or we might never have gotten to enjoy his company on here

Ha, I know that feeling.

In elementary school, the qualitative part of my evaluation always contained something along the lines of ' JDragon occasionally insisted on his opinion too much'.

Then again, a substitute teacher once marked my result of 3-6=? as wrong because we had not had negative numbers in class yet and the 'correct' result was 0.

Lol. That's funny you mentioned that example. In 1st grade or whenever that was we had the same expectation that smaller number minus bigger number would be zero, and I was going on about why can't there be negative numbers while teacher tried to get me to shush so as to not confuse the other kids

I was always in trouble for standing and walking around during the boring parts of elementary school. Thankfully my dad was a hard nose and told the counselors to gtfo when they suggested taking me in for adhd evaluation. He gave me a little "lesson" about respect in schools and that solved my innocent but distracting disruptions and I just daydreamed a lot from my desk after that.

With the shortage of physicians, I’m sure any smart top 10 percent dr could get into a realitively prestigious job. And it’s no secret that academic medicine sometimes pays 50% what you can make elsewhere.

Good friend of my wife's is pursuing an academic career in neurology (having a Bachelor's in Biology and soon a PhD in medicine). So far I have failed to understand this approach tbh. I personally would not want to study medicine, but if I would, I certainly would strive to make a lot of money given the invest.

My work is on lock down due to reports of an active shooter just a couple blocks down

Illinois had that workplace shooting not long ago where a violent felon was able to keep his gun due to police simply sending a letter saying "you are required to turn in any firearms you own" and no follow up when he of course didn't.

Meanwhile, it takes 5 months of waiting for the state to issue ccw permits to people with 0 criminal history and a previously held ccw from a different state.

Hoping it's just a false alarm or nothing more than Rockford's nightly shooting happening during the day and that there isn't a body count. I'm just frustrated with this city's and state's horrible ineffective policies. We just released a guy for armed robbery and battery on bail, who has twice assaulted someone since his first time making bail and hasn't yet stood trial or sentencing for the original case.

I'm just curious how you still find time to market the Juice Loosener

I think that's reasonable as an excuse, but it's pretty shameful for the person who benefits from the excuse, so it kind of takes away from the goodliness of the excuse. Like when I accepted a debate with Kafir-Kun about boots on the ground in the middle east, and then reconsidered before the debate came and declined, he can rightfully say that he won in the sense that I agreed to his side of the argument, and that I forfeited. I wouldn't even mind it being counted as a loss on a scoreboard, though that's borderline.

But this one between wai and prok wasn't even a matter of cold feet; he still thought he would win. That's where I think it was not honorable or gentlemanly conduct.

What was the bet over?

Hard to miss @Limbo Pete animosity toward the wealthy and successful. Sad.

If only he took advantage of the opportunities to pick our brains and get some free life coaching, he probably wouldn’t be in his current situation.

god damn the writing on that show was great. they always had an extra joke to throw in at the end.

1st report is that 1 US Marshall was shot and taken to the hospital, condition unknown. No reports of civilian injuries or casualties so hoping that's the case.

Shooter was identified as a Floyd Brown. There have been a string of burglaries in Rockford the past week, police tied them to this man who had been staying at a hotel. Guess this all went down when they went to arrest him and he fought his way out of the hotel into his car and managed to get away. Cops freaking everywhere and bulletins out that he's considered armed and dangerous. Facebook detectives dug found he got out of prison for burglary in 2011, then December this past year he got away running over 3 people with his car when escaping the police for some burglaries in twin cities MN. .

So we're completely on lock down here with this guy on the loose after winning a gun fight with police.

Update: high speed chase going on now according to scanner pages

Dr. Luba A. Long, aka Dr. Nick Riviera, aka Dr. Nyguen Van Thong

something awful has happened and somebody has spray painted horrible things about everybody in my family in our garage except for me using washable spray chalk and run-on sentences but for to make us feel bad only.

@Limbo Pete give me some career advice.

Turned down an interview at a highly prestigious place last month that serves the extremely wealthy. Feel a little inadequate to work there and don’t want to deal with super rich patients with high demands and expectations.

Right now working at a semi lazy, low prestigious job and get pampered and fawned over. They desperately fear I will leave them. Got women making me coffee and bringing me food every single day. People offering to pick my kids up from school. Lots of super nice people.

Have a new interview in 2 weeks. New job pays 35-115k more per year, involves less work, more days off, would get adjunct appointment at a top university (currently at a less prestigious one), but I wouldn’t have all these nice people taking good care of me everyday.

If I leave, I will make more money, but I might dislike the job, and I will lose all the nice services I’ve grown used to. How to decide????

You take the money. Respect and that shit can be earned by putting in good work at the new place. The money sets up your future better.
