Well if this is turned into a no fun forum where we can't post memes, joke around a bit with each other, people won't post as much. We all like talking about the serious issues but we all like joking around, making jokes, posting funny pictures, trash talking etc.

Unless there's some major reason I don't know about, I think banning all memes and funny picture replies is gonna make the war room less fun to participate in. People will spend time on another forum. Or maybe keeping internet traffic up in the War Room is not a priority. Sherdog may not even think it's important to have a political/ debate forum around. Maybe it's more trouble for the site than it's worth? (A recently banned war roomer almost got the whole Sherdog website in danger by threatening to go to CRAVE.)And they don't mind if traffic drops in the WR?

It's been around since at least 2015. I do agree that it's strange that there are not more voluntary compilations of political positions for this kind of cross referencing. I'm not sure there's much of a market for it.

Joking around a bit is surely a good thing. However, a picture + payoff in the form of a joke is not an intellectual point nor usually a witty use of comedy to pursue persuasion.

It is by design cheap and reductive most of the time. (I just took a tour of the meme thread and it was a bit depressing most of the time.) One can not have a good political discussion when overrun with what amounts to partisan sloganeering.

Jokes meant to trigger the opposition, and rally the troops. That's good activism, not discussion.

I don't have a problem with pictures, gifs and memes. This is the internet and that's a part of how we communicate, laugh, trash talk, interact and fight back. Because we can't talk face to face, see expression and tone of voice. It's also how we post comebacks at each other. We get some truly awful things said to us. People wishing rape, anal sex on us, talking sexually about my kid. There is really no other better way to deal with that than a picture, gif, meme etc.

I don't really see most of us as intellectual giants. Some of you guys are, but not me, I make my points, fight off the haters with pictures videos and gifs.

Sure, but don't know how else you prove that. He's been saying all sorts of silly shit about me being an RN or something (again nothing wrong with that. they can be great clinicians). It hits his ego, and doesn't fit his internal narrative that anyone right of him 1) isn't a red neck hill billy or worse 2) is actually more educated.
