My picture of NOLA is very much influenced by that one James Bond beginning scene...

I knew that cats showing you their stomach meant they feel safe around you, but I also thought they were baiting you to rub their belly so they could attack you. Turns out, their bellies are just really sensitive and most don't like being touched there. We assume because he shows his belly that he wants to be rubbed there.

One of my cats insists that you rub her belly
I can straight up squash my face into that cat tummy

Yeah, I used to volunteer at a shelter (and I have a cat), and plenty of cats like it. I also have the sneaking suspicion that cats are really good judges of character and won't attack you if you're giving off good vibes and aren't scared of them. I can rub pretty much any cat's belly and they won't attack me. I can't speak to whether all of them like it, but I almost never get scratched by cats.

Well I know I am

See, I don't know either of you well. I know you better, you come across as relaxed, chill and probably a good person. He comes across as a condescending douche bag, if the cats are 'really good judges of character' whatever the hell that means, I would bet they arch their back and hiss at him.

jesus christ Sketch, clean out the sand

Well I dunno

Does anyone else love the holidays exceptionally more than other times of the year? I truly do think there is a good vibe or "holiday spirit" among people during this month that I wish lasted the whole year.

Ya know, there are a lot of persons of color who get shit on by mouth breathing idiots for speaking their piece on issues of race and having their opinions discredited as insincere or opportunistic.

I'd say that, for about 99% of those people, it's bullshit and just a way for people who are naive, uninformed, or outright racist to shut them down. But one person for whom I think the criticism rings somewhat true is Jemele Hill. She's currently opining on a 6-year-old video of Louis CK and Chris Rock using the n-word on Twitter and moreover misrepresenting (whether intention or not - she could just not be bright enough to have picked up on the suggestion) Ricky Gervais's reaction to a joke by CK about how, in pairing up the four (CK, Rock, Gervais, and Seinfeld), CK/Rock used the word on stage, while CK/Gervais used it in private (making the joke that Gervais and CK were actually racist in private). She commented on how Gervais was "proud" that he used the word in private.

Not gonna link her tweets, so this is the original video
