You don't get to choose which threads should and shouldn't be dumped, thankfully. You do choose to reply to a thread or not, and face the consequences of what you post. You're learning that now. Having a meltdown in the Lounge is some serious toddler bullshit.

I'm having a conversation, if you think this a meltdown, I think you need to get out more or something.

Everyone is always attributing these feelings to me when I'm always quite deadpan.

Noodle getting buried on the last page is number one bullshit.

Oh okay. I sometimes click on that thread by accident cause it's right by the lounge and it just seems like a haven for far right, often racist memes.

Keep in mind it's the conservative definition of not racist.

IE, it's not racist unless the N word is actually spelled out.

Be impartial and list his pros....

I mean he put in place policies for environment?

I am, he has a long list of his dirty laundry than most and I did mention he ended the worst US war post WW2.

About the environment, he wasn’t merely an advocate but staunch supporter of cleaner and greener practices, almost revolutionary for his time.

Skip to the last 2 mins for his achievements and polices passed.

The National Environmental Policy Act (1969), which among other things required that all federal agencies produce environmental impact statementson the possible negative effects of any and all regulations. It also created the President’s Council on Environmental Quality.

— The Environmental Protection Agency (1970). Self-explanatory. Amazing.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA, 1970). Proposed by Nixon “...for better protection of life and property from natural hazards…for a better understanding of the total environment…[and] for exploration and development leading to the intelligent use of our marine resources…” That's what he wanted, and that's what the agency does.

The Clean Air Act (1970). Before the act, America’s skies were filthy. Afterward, they weren’t exactly pristine, but they were dramatically better, and later amendments cleaned the air up even more.

Earth Week (1971). OK, something of a gimmick, but still, Nixon endorsed it to commemorate the first anniversary of Earth Day. He may not have sported Birkenstocks, but in some ways the man was practically a tree-hugger.

The Clean Water Act (1972). If this is beginning to sound like the green legislation hall of fame, it’s not just you.

— The Endangered Species Act (1973): Even if this was all Nixon had achieved, he would rank among one of our greenest presidents.

He’s way before my time but I think it’s fair if we’re going to mention all the bad he’s done then we should mention all the good. He made the media and academia his number 1 enemy (who themselves are the enemy of the people) so he’s not put in positive light by those who write about his legacy. Despite this I think he did more bad than good, yet still better than any 21st century president so far.

As probably the most fragile person here I decided a little while ago to just not go into threads where the topic seems like it could trigger me. Generally speaking you can tell the direction of a thread based on either who made it or the way the title is written.

Not according to the rankings that were literally posted, you can’t think I did any more research into Nixon.

OK. Well, look it up. For example, he vetoed the Clean Water Act, but it passed (a lot more going on here, as it wasn't a matter of a simple override, but note that the administration was fighting against it every step of the way).

I bet if people just didn’t post in threads that shouldn’t exist in the first place they’d fall away into obscurity......where they belong

Except that's not what happens right? Instead you get an echo chamber of reinforcing shit that threatens to represent a Sherdog idiot consensus.

I think the like system is a mistake and usually results in a thread being defined by the first eye catching post that either side will agree with.
It was always that way imo. First page posts get the bulk of interactions regardless of likes.

Bonus likes should be awarded for reporting lies and gross hyperbole in new threads.
