Yeah, the sportster platform was definitely mature (if not antiquated), the Rotax mill still had some development needed at release (lots of issues at the launch which were put down to being "preproduction press bikes"). Not sure if they'd sorted it all out by the time the capacity was bumped from 1125 to 1190. I know they upgraded the stators, revised the clutch covers and went to fully digital instruments.
Would be even harder to come up with an American sports bike these days, because the global market for race replicas has been shrinking. The leading sellers in performance bikes are all super nakeds and ADV bikes (although a lot of the ADV bikes are really just sports-tourers).
Interested to see the reviews for HD's PanAmerica when it's for sale. Seems like they can't make up their mind about whether they are going to die out with their aging consumer base, or risk watering down the brand identity by chasing younger riders and new market segments.

The poor employees who work there are the ones who suffer

I'm not sure if this is just a local thing but police here don't respond to shoplifting calls from walmart because they won't hire their own security. They have a lot of theft issues so law enforcement were being inundated with calls about it

If employees are suffering in any way due to shoplifting and customers want to take action to change that do you think a more effective approach is to confront shoplifters individually or maybe do something like organize a collective effort to publicly hold a company with walmart's profit margin morally accountable for that suffering due to their refusal to augment their work force with security

I don't think either would be effective but I like the idea of a PR assault more than messing with people for stealing from a giant chain store

If revenue is down, the rich owners and share holders get their bonuses before the retail on the floor workers, so the shoplifters hurt the workers first.

I'm sure walmart's bonus structure for on site employees is very competitive in today's job market
