If the powers that be @Lead and @Ruprecht aka Sherdog wouldn't take my powers away, I'd like this post. Always love to see another Beatle historian who respects just exactly WTF they did for the future of rock.

Paul didn't have it much easier, either. Him and his brother were away on a scout trip at 14, and he came back to a dead mom. That's why John and Paul both connected, they both had that "dead mother" complex.

Actually, all 4 had pretty tough upbringings. Lower-middle class at best. I'm not a HUGE rock historian, but from the legendary, classic rock bands, they might have the collectively most humble beginnings. Queen and the Stones met at college or art school. Pink Floyd too, I think.

Back in the 50s/60s, Liverpool was considered the ghetto of England. So for all of them to come from that, and to be the biggest English export since the US, was pretty nice.

@PolishHeadlock2

listen to most of that podcast passively. I found it to be like when Klein did rounds for his book. I already knew most of what was going to be said and even kinda heard the same joke used. Not sure if he’s been doing other shows but I know for people who handle it that way, they probably don’t get the same “experience” as other guests cause it just feels like more work to sell their book. Glad he had him on though. He should do Klein at one point too. I think that one could be hilarious because I don’t think either of them are into similar stuff so it would have to be purely a political discussion which also might go nowhere.

I'm actually in the @Jack V Savage and @PolishHeadlock2 camp when it comes to Pelosi and quite like her myself. Among the many different thread ideas I have for after these emasculating, extreme and oppressive account restrictions come off is one on her legacy. Can you imagine how fucked it would be in there, just littered with nothing but personal insults about the appearance of an 80-year-old woman? Nobody in Congress over the last 35 years has taken a tougher line on every negative aspect to do with China and the CCP (Remember that drastic contrast with Feinstein, @Mr Holmes?). Nobody in Congress over the last 35 years fought harder or did more to deal with the HIV/AIDS crisis.

So they wouldn’t have passed if she wasn’t the speaker?

Oh for shit sake

"The cheese stands alone..."

Isn't it at least a little weird how Michael K. Williams is now typecasted as the strong gay black man? After the Wire and Hap and Leonard, I thought it was kind of funny. But after Lovecraft Country, either he is going for those roles, or that's all he can get.

There's a bunch of these on Amazon. Incredible.
Not sure if the "seller" tag means that the responder actually sells the item listed, but in this case the answers to "customer questions" were clearly taking the piss.
