I doubt that Lavar is that big of a deal, but who knows.

I don't follow NBA prospects real religiously like I do with NFL prospects, but it seems like most of the top prospects this year project as strong role players, with the exception of Patrick Williams who I think almost has to be boom/bust as either a key piece of an offense or bench player just based on his game. Anthony Smith reminds me of Desmond Mason. Which isn't a bad thing, but I think you'd prefer a more skilled comp for the #1 pick.

The Last Kingdom is closer to how the invasion of Mercia went. Whether Uhtred was real can be debated but the way King Alfred led and shit is very close to written histories of the time

Uhtred is a fictional character, but he's kind of the bridge between the fans and history. Just about everything else that happens, actually happened. Which is why I can say it's technically a better show (historically) than Vikings, although Ragnar/Travis is a much better lead.

They picked literally the perfect actors for Bjorn and Ubbe. There’s a ton of debate about Ragnar and it’s likely he was a mix of a ton of different guys from history turned into legend.

Ubbe was always described seemingly as looking the most like his “father” Ragnar. Actor that plays adult Ubbe is perfect:

Aye. Vikings is a more personal story about Ragnar and his sons, and then it opens up into the Great Heathen Army. But it is almost like a quasi-prequel to The Last Kingdom, which deals with Alfred the Great's later years, and his eventual badassdom regarding so called heathens.
