Dunno if y'all in here saw my post about the Bulwer-Lytton prize for beautifully horrid opening sentences to novels, but I just submitted this entry and you're welcome to do your Sher-worst and let me know what you think.

He cocked his eye, likewise his gun, both pointedly eyeing up the one man, the one creature that walked the Earth, that he had sworn to defend with his life, that he had pledged to follow loyally to the end of days, and said, "No, if I were you I wouldn't have believed me either."

Height was never an issue for me but I had no idea how important it was until I came to this country
If you think it makes a difference in the US, try Japan. I'm always a little embarrassed the first time I get my haircut after I get back from a trip to Japan; with all the bumps and bruises on my skull I wonder what the barber must think.

Which guy? I know the obvious choice but I thought that was a 1-time thing, not a commemorative.

Oh it's not a 1 time thing. When someone is a pack they can be smoked many times. I'll be putting Homer into my ash tray for years.

Mandalorian season 2 is awesome.

@HockeyBjj You know the worst thing about Game of Thrones (other than the final two seasons)? The astonishingly consistent reliance on deus ex machina.

Like...it's unbelievable. Off the top of my head:

Battle of Blackwater - the battle is unwinnable and all of the King's Landing main characters will be killed until....Tywin's army unexpectedly appears.

Battle of the Bastards - the battle is lost and all of the good guys face certain death until....the Knights of the Vale unexpectedly appear.

The Sons of Harpy stage a siege on the arena - all the Essos main characters face certain death until....a dragon unexpectedly appears.

Arya surrounded by hungry wolves and about to be eaten until.....her direwolf unexpectedly appears

Bran and Meera surrounded by wights and both facing certain death until....deadalive Benjen unexpectedly appears.

Jon Snow faces certain death in the North until....deadalive Benjen unexpectedly appears.

Attack on Meereen - city is sacked and about to be destroyed until.....Daeny on her dragon unexpectedly appears.

It's like pathological. Plus there are a bunch of other almost-deus-ex-machina moments where the plot resolution device is at least within the immediate realm of possibility (Podrick saving Tyrion, Bronn somehow saving Jaime, etc.)

Kinda weird too when it was a show perfectly fine with killing main characters. You’d think for that reason, you don’t really need that keep tactic. Those earlier season examples don’t bother me but the one I noticed most and was very annoyed with at the time was the beyond the wall episode. The timing for them to be stranded on that ice and the dragon come at the last second was cringe. I think it was that same season too where they showed Jamie sink into a lake at the end of the episode and then just be fine the other season.

One thing that’s been nice about whole seasons being released at once is shows are less incentivized to do cheesy artificial cliffhangers at the end of any one episode. You still will get one at the end of the season but that’s far more forgivable than blatantly misleading viewers between episodes to keep our attention. Season to season ones gives fans something to discuss during the break.

all the gyms in my county are closing AGAIN.
46 ppl were hospitalized recently....
in a county of 1.1 million people.

OH MY FUCKING GOD! CLOSE EVERYTHING!
health nazis.

Where do you live? Everything just got shut down here to but we aren't complying I just got done wrestling

Nope.

There is a full blown socialist deep state propaganda war going on, complete with rigged elections.

Any reasonable person would consider that an act of war.
Don't shoot anybody please, you fucking psycho.

i actually like being just over 5'11" just to take the souls of insecure bullshittters who claim 6'
No bullshit. My height and wingspan are pretty much exactly 6'. :D

Agreed on all points. As bad as the final season was, Beyond the Wall is still imo the worst episode of the series by far. Felt like I was taking crazy pills when season 7 got good reviews.

Rocky 1,2,5

How could you like 5? Isn’t that the one where the ending isn’t even a boxing match but just him punching the Don King type character in the face? I’d say 1,2,4

Mandalorian season 2 is awesome.
