War Room Lounge v175: A Call for Acronymity

Part of me wonders if people realize that the harder they fight to get back to normal, the longer it's going to take to get back to normal. I'd love to see contact tracing from that event. All the old fat people I see siezing up in the front are prime candidates for a lung scarification.
It's going to be bad.

I am annoyed that we haven't been able to get back to normal. But I also know if I go out ranting about it I put my "have had pneumonia 2-3 times" lungs at risk of getting fucked up even more.

I got a similar call and I was like really? Microsoft has to install something on my MacBook? Really?

They hung up
They wouldn't do it if it didn't work. And as obvious with my dad, it does work.

Working from home and all I want to do is turn on my Xbox and play the second Kiwami game.

I feel like if the game didn't have Majima from the start it'd lose a lot of it's charm.

The guy works for, in the first game, the group that Kazuma is fighting against. But he's very blatant in his end goal of "I just want to fight you, I don't give two shits about my boss."

He's basically the Yakuza series version of Kenpachi.

Of course. For most shitty right wing posters, there's a certain mixture.

They all sit on the nostradumbass-Inga spectrum. Complete inability to form or understand arguments on one end and complete bad faith on the other.
I was thinking about Locke’s fool and madman where the fool cannot draw conclusions from his premises, and the madman draws his conclusions from bad ones. I wonder how liars fit in that model?

Yo @Falsedawn

Are the other Yakuza games other than Kiwami 1 and 2 and Zero on PC somewhere or would I be stuck playing 3-6 via emulator or having to find a PS3 someplace? Or get a PS4 and pray for backwards compatibility?

3-6, Judgment, and the Fist of the North Star game should all be on PS4 I think.

With Like A Dragon coming to PC, they'd be absolutely foolish not to release the 3-5 remasters. I heard the word was that they were waiting for the Xbox to get Kiwami 2 for platform parity. 6 should then be coming to PC as it was supposed to be being worked on when they were porting 0. With Kiwami 2 also using the Dragon Engine, i'd expect to see it not long after the remasters release.

As far as any of the others though on PC (Kenzan, Ishin, Dead Souls, Judgment, FOTNS) I have no idea.

Everything I read in briefly looking is the fans want 3-6 to show up on PC/Xbox. And that Sega is thinking about porting one of the Ishin games to Xbox or PC.

Guess I am going to try and get a PS4 sooner than I thought lol.

The reason I think 3-5 are an inevitability are because of 6. When the initial leak that Yakuza 0 was dropping on PC happened, the other game mentioned was Yakuza 6. Of course, Sega dropped 0 on us with no warning, proving the leak at least somewhat true. Then they released Kiwami 2 on PC stupid fast, which tells me they probably had some practice on another Dragon Engine game...that game being Yakuza 6.

I'd bet good money the remasters are already in the pipeline, so it's only a matter of time.

I honestly don't know how I feel about the Dragon Engine. That's the one that Kiwami 2 runs right?

I liked how you had 4 unique fighting styles from the Zero engine that got used in the first Kiwami remake.

Yeah, Dragon Engine is the Kiwami 2 engine. Well, originally the Y6 engine. But all their new games use it.

I'm a fan of the Dragon Engine from a technical perspective, but also from a story perspective as well. It made no sense for Kiryu to be using anything but Dragon Style past 0. The styles were supposed to be his foundation that were blended into Dragon Style, which is his signature fighting style. By the time he gets released from jail, he would have been using Dragon Style exclusively for ~18 years. Sure he wasn't doing much fighting in jail, but he wouldn't revert to his component styles just because he was rusty.

Kiwami 2 to me is the most accurate representation of Kiryu's combat style, and the engine goes a long way toward making it look cooler than it ever has. The real appeal of 0 for me was being rookie Majima for the first time, as I think he has one fight in the entire series outside of 0 where he's not trying to knife your ass. When he finally DOES get Mad Dog of Shimano, it feels like a reward baked in breakdancing and baseball bat acrobatics.
