Thank you bro. Keep it up and I’ll start telling my people that not all Antifa are terrorist scum lol.

Unfortunately as long as there are racist, criminal, overbearing assholes there will be racist, criminal, overbearing asshole cops. We just need to do a better job policing our own, I know that’s a problem.

I’ve seen the worst in all types of people from all walks of life. It just comes with the job. And despite seeing all that, and being something of a misanthrope, I still have optimism for everyone. Even when my instinct is to despise or condemn, I try to understand. I do believe in rehabilitation, maybe even salvation. Not for everyone, but for enough.

I know you’re a Hemingway guy but I’m a big William Faulkner fan. I think because I see that same perspective in his writing. It’s a lot of dark, terrible stuff, some idiots, bigots, some murders and deaths, but he never stops imploring the reader to understand it (and sometimes he’s hard to understand) rather than to cynically despise it. He’s critical but he’s also optimistic.

Anyway it’s late and I’m rambling but I appreciate you man.

All good man, I know there's tons of good cops out there. My issue isn't in particular against all cops in general, its the system of policing and the protections shit cops have in terms of accountability, but the average beat cop probably isn't that much of a cunt. Still going to listen to Millions of Dead Cops tho.

Faulkner is an interesting study. That beef he had with Hemingway was glorious and Hemingway put him in his place after Faulkner talked shit about Old Man and the Sea. You do make a valid point about Faulkner, that era of American literature really embraced the idea of mutual suffering.

Subway's bread not legally bread in Ireland. Didn't Taco Bell once get sued over false advertising about their beef burritos because their beef mixture was mostly filler and not legally beef?

Iirc, taco bell's beef was something like 20% oats.

RBG is on the cover of people magazine this week.

I fully expect her to get confirmed but you can still hammer this stuff to hurt the GOP politically

If you haven't guessed so far, the GOP is treating this as a base election, not a change election. Full throated opposition to Roe will motivate their base. They are hoping to have high turnout from their base, they aren't trying to sway undecideds or anything like that.

That was happening regardless of this.

The Dems have a bigger base and this will motivate them.

I'd also hammer her saying the ACA is unconstitutional because it might be even more popular than Roe.

You clearly haven't met @Hawkeye Pierce
