You can find some old F250s and shit that are diesel for pretty inexpensive but I'd be careful of the big engine ones from the 2004-2008 era as there was a design problem in the engine that cause a portion of the plastic that feeds air to the engine to melt and get a whole in it.

But you can find those and Dodge Rams that are diesel for pretty good prices and if you're doing big game hunting a Tacoma is the minimum size I'd go for a truck. Granted you're down south but even alligator hunting you'd be hard pressed to get a big one in the bed of a Ranger easily.


One thing a friend of mine with shit credit did was buy an F450 flat bed from a industrial company and re-do that back end. He kept the flat bed but built his own side walls and tailgate he could just drop in when he wanted to. That truck was awesome.

I was actually thinking of going gator hunting this year. I heard you can sell them for a pretty penny. Mostly looking for deer hunting and to haul around a kayak.
