An Oregon man is on the mend after police say he accidentally shot himself in the groin while flaunting a concealed handgun at a Lincoln City supermarket.

The mishap occurred Sunday night when Nicholas J. Ellingford, 29, brandished his Glock 9mm in the checkout line at McKay’s Market on U.S. 101 and tried to show it off to a buddy, according to the Lincoln City Police Department.

Ellingford mistakenly pulled the trigger as he stuffed the piece back into his pants, police said. A bullet tore through the gunslinger’s groin and exited his thigh, just barely missing the man’s femoral artery.

The way people just shove guns in their waistband in movies is ripe for shooting yourself. Same with the chick keeping the gun in their purse without a holster (yes, they make holsters designed to sit in a purse).

The computer hardware doesn't care whether you wrote your program in C or BASIC or python because it can only understand on or off, which is interpreted as a one or a zero by the software that runs on it. It may also be interesting to note that the term command line is actually a short form of the original term, command line interpreter, because it is interpreting your command in real time into something called machine language, which is written in binary. Edit: Similarly, a compiled program has already been fully converted to machine language which is why it is referred to as executable and also binary.

BIGGEST reason I have heard is it allows you access easily when sitting in a car as it's right in front and let's say your primary hand/arm gets injured or disabled you can still grab it with your other hand.

Course, by that time there's a part of me that is like "maybe then it's time to retreat if you can" but this is coming from a guy whose primary holster is a Galco miami shoulder holster for his 1911.
